What is alternative? Adama Traore.

I would rather go with James, Dave, and CHO than to splash 80 bloody million on Hakimi. We have CM and ST that are arguably higher priorities.

I dont like being involved in a bidding war. Hakimi’s agent is earning his money.

€80m not worthy for Hakimi.  Inter is just enjoying bidding war and we should not encourage them. I would rather use this similar money to buy Pogba from man u.

Pogba turns up for about five games a season, so lets not do that.

80m for RWB ? 🤔

If he prefer Easy Game-Easy Life at PSG good luck .

I believe that we will find the right players for normals  €€€  like   Edou Mendy .

Personally, I am not buying the PSG stuff. I reckon we'll get him done for something like €55m-€65m plus one or two of Emerson/Alonso/Zappa.

With seeing Gilmour play tonight I would be willing to pay 120m for Haaland he is a difference maker imo.

I don't see how Gilmour's performance is related to the haaland deal going ahead though.

If we don't have a goalscorer next season our midfield and attack can be as good as they want we won't compete for the title.

While I am by no means a fan of Jorginho (albeit he has been decent at this euros), playing Gilmour over him does not improve us too much to make a significant difference

Quality from full-backs/ wing-backs are now crucial to breaking down teams which crowd the space in the middle.

Don't care how long it takes this summer, but, if the club can do it, I want to see this by the end of the window:

GK: Mendy, Areola, Kepa/GK3

CB: Silva, AC (new contract), Rudi (New contract), Dave, James*, Guehi

WB: Hakimi, James*, Chilwell, Alonso

CM: Kante, Kova, Jorgi +1 (James*?!?)

AM: Havertz, Mount, Puli, Werner*, CHO

CF: Håland, Werner*, Giroud

*denotes player that can play multiple positions.

For me Gilmour has a chance at CM4 but I really think he would be better off getting some real minutes. Brighton would be ideal, if not there then Spain or something.

agree on most but I have a few thoughts to add

you also left out wingers

first, we obviously need to finish off 2 crazy hard deals to begin with (Hakimi and especially Håland)

if both fall through then we are in scramble mode

next

Guehi is not Chels CB level IMHO

harsh, but just my current stance

that MAY change, but ATM I am not buying into it, especially due to his height

IF we were to keep him, Zouma leaves (I am all for that) and then (a nightmare buy for me) were to buy Kounde, that leaves us with only TWO CB's over 6 feet tall (AC and Rudiger) on the squad, and so does your list as well

Silva leaves next year 99% likely as well (he is 6 feet on the nose) and if another nightmare occurs, and Rudiger leaves on a free, we are down to ONE, unless we buy another (surely we would). That is why I am so so against Kounde, he is not only outrageously overpriced, but is a dwarf. Listed as 5-10 and I think that is a lie.

Maxence Lacroix (1.90m) is out there now for £25m (confirmed by Wolfsburg). There are others too, including some young giants like Botman (1.95m)

IF Alonso leaves, that is more height gone as even a limited option.

we also, will soon need a DMF

Aurélien Tchouaméni or Locatelli for me, bit it may have to wait (in which case Locatelli will be gone)

Tbh, I think most of our money goes on Hakimi and Håland if we get them, not sure how much dollar is floating around after that.

As for CB, the way I see it is we can roll with Silva, AC, Rudi, James and Guehi to at least Jan. For me, Guehi would only be getting the odd game out of that five. If there are issues then, I reckon you can go in January.

As for CM, I am still of the opinion I want a goal scoring No.6 rather than a defensive one. If we go there, I want SMS. I admit I haven't seen much of Locatelli or Tchou so I cannot make an opinion. However, I want to see strength, height and goals from our next No.6 and he is one of the few that I think can do all three. Pace of the league is the only issue with him.

As for Alonso, as I am sure you're aware, I am a big supporter of his, so ideally we keep him. For me you only consider letting him go is if their is an offer (or eqivilent) of over €20m.
