He might be a good player, but I have to say that our league is really bad. Salzburg is by far the best team and the difference in terms of quality compared to the other teams is much greater than say Bayern compared to the rest of their league.  There might be some exceptions (Mane, Haaland) who are good enough for top teams, but usually young Salzburg players find their level at teams like Leipzig or Leverkusen at best. Other strikers who scored many goals in our league were quickly found out when they made the next step to Italy or Germany.

Yes - Another young forward with potential is not the profile needed in attack either.

Interesting, Daka retweeted this in his account.

It is always nice watching a striker highlight video and not being able to identify which foot is his strong foot. Looks like a very tidy player, great movement, who will surely get better.

Chelsea are keen on Haaland though it is understood German boss Thomas Tuchel is still willing to work on getting the best out of his compatriot Timo Werner, who the Blues spent £53m on just one year ago. (Mail) #CFC #BVB

Never understood why Timo is even included in posts like that, he doesn’t even occupy the 9 or a striker role. More than happy to continue with Timo in the team, doesn’t affect bringing in a striker, for me.

Would people be happy with Saul Niguez who I see we’ve been linked with recently? He seems to be linked with a big move away from Atleti every window. Hasn’t he been pretty mediocre for a while now?

Think it's because Tuchel ended up using Werner like one in the last 1-2 months of the season.

But otherwise, I agree. People in England - like the pundits and journalists - think he's a #9 just because he scored goals in Germany when he did that and more as an inside left forward or a left #10 while playing alongside a central striker at Leipzig.

From what I've seen and read he's not been as good this season as previously, but before this season he was always one of the top performers for Atletico. I'm just speculating but maybe Thomas Partey's departure changed his role a little bit and he's not been as effective as before?

That being said they still won the league title with Saul playing most games (22 starts, 11 sub appearances in the league) so he can't have been that bad, can he?

Still has five years left on the 9 year (!!) contract he signed in 2017 so won't be cheap unless Atletico are open to selling. I could see him fitting alongside Kante in midfield quite well.

Good info. Thank you.

what do you guys think of ramos?

I think Sergio Ramos would be David Luiz-esque in the PL. Capable of looking great with a good setup around him but also capable of many clownish mistakes and sendings off.

Defniitely wouldn’t want him here.

I want to see the fucking deadwood shipped. Really tired of seeing these twats still here on the books. Just staggering how many turds we have in the bowl.

And no, not talking about Jorginho or Zouma in regards to this post.

If Tuchel trusts Jorginho, I am fine with him staying.

There are no players in the main roster who make me angry simply by being at the club. Even Kepa means well. There are some out in loan who do though. Barkley is a fucking dickhead drunk, same for Drinkwater. Embarrassing to have them tied to us.

He can play LB as well, and is a class CMF in his prime years. 80m euros is too high for this market though.

I think it's gotta be a striker and then someone to replace Jorginho although he I understand his roles a strange one that can't really be done by someone else I think a role that would compliment Kante more in needed.

Chelsea's current highest earner is Kante at a rumoured £290k a week. Werner, Havertz, Pulisic and Kepa are all rumoured to earn £150-200k a week.

Haaland's demands are rumoured to be from £350k to £500k a week.

Breaking the wage structure won't be easy
