Would be a bit of a downer to end the window with Kepa remaining as our #1 or with us buying a new keeper to "compete" with him. We don't need competition, we need a clear upgrade. Would be almost funny if we don't upgrade our most glaring need in our highest spending summer ever.

Can already picture Thiago Silva throwing his hands up and saying "oh, come on!" when Kepa lets in a bunch of easy goals.

Really, I just don't want to see literally every opponent regardless of stature playing for setpieces and corners to target our keeper. We had relegation fodder and shithouse clubs with -30 goal differences coming against us and scoring by targeting our small, weak keeper. That can't happen again.

Apparently we can’t get rid of him. We shot ourselves in the knee there with a rocket launcher panic buying him for 80m€ on a fat ass contract. That deal will cripple our long term plans for the whole decade. Worse than Torres

Only worry is Woy will turn him into a DMF.

That's where he played a lot of games for Charlton.

Given Havertz impending arrival and Mount being well established that's probably his best shot of breaking into our lineup so may work out if Roy does play him there.

I agree, from what I've seen he has the discipline and all round game to be able to play in a deeper role and moving forward this may end up being the best opportunity for him to break through here.

Hope we go for Mike Maignan

Maignan sure would be the better deal. Younger and better handling. Also not African. But he would be a risk as well. Mendy suits our play style slightly better with his aerial prowess and slightly better passing. We will get a capable goalie either way I think
