He's growing on me, how many other American owners do you see at the training grounds of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manure?

He genuinely seems to be a fan.

Lot of rumours going around that Todd was in a meeting with agents and made a comment where it looks like he was under the impression we qualified for the CL every year… then he was corrected by one of said agent, left the room and checked with his advisors before returning and acknowledging he was wrong 🤣

Holy fuck I hope this isn't true - talk about looking like a grade A fanny

He's been following Premier League football since he first pursued purchasing us almost half a decade ago.

Probably the same xenophobic people that spread the rumors Boehly asking Tuchel why they don't play  a 4 4 3

The 443 stuff came from the Athletic and they are notoriously well informed usually. Not sure where the CL thing came from but seen it doing the rounds

I do not doubt that they heard it from people connected to Tuchel, but his people also made silly comments like that about owners that have let Tuchel go in the past.

Here's my two cents: Todd is a bit of a plonker. He's good at what he does in a financial sense but when it comes to the game he's not that informed. Tbf it is quite hard to keep up with all the rules, he probably keeps up with 3 other sports.

He's doing OK for someone who jumped in the deep end. First summer was shambles (not surprising after sanctions), they decided to start from scratch which you can't blame them for because the Roman administration wasn't the best. January signings salvaged it for me. Although there are some which could hamstring us for years, Enzo and Badman were good buys.

I just hope future spending isn't hampered by the summer's stupid buys. If more than half of the winter signings flop, we are in a bad position as we are stuck with them for a long time. I don't think we sign Felix as we probably have Nkunku in that position but never say never.

Literally can't buy a win at this point.

We were mocking PSG, now we are in same position. Except way worse, performance-wise and we didn't do ourselves any favors with some… uhm, personnel appointments.

Not criticizing TB for this though, everyone makes mistakes, it's how one handles them that matters.

Must be super frustrating for him to see his team constantly muck things up. He's there every game.

Even more frustrating that its finally dawned on him that he's not good at his job.  Awful manager

500000000 million pounds spent and no even one normal striker in the squad.

not having a striker is unpleasant and holding us back but that is not why our style looks stale, boring, unimaginative and not creating any vertical penetration. I know Kai has been poor but today was actually a very good CF performance in terms of movement and positioning, holding on to the ball well and winning a fair number of balls high up but Westham packed the box and all we could manage was mostly poor quality deliveries, cutbacks and passes.

Okey so we do have a normal striker in the squad?

Chelsea: Potter could unleash Lukaku heir in Mason Burstow

What Mason Burstow was saying in Chelsea first-team training yesterday

Chelsea spent £323m in the January transfer window and since Todd Boehly’s ownership takeover in May 2022 have spent £553.95m in total which has prompted concern about their Financial Fair Play obligations.

It is reported that the Blues could find themselves in hot water as early as next season due to their frivolous spending, especially if they don’t qualify for the Champions League next season.

Graham Potter‘s side are currently ninth in the Premier League table and ten points adrift of a Champions League qualifying spot inside the top four due to a string of poor performances that has seen them struggle to compete at the highest level.

Indeed, there is no doubt that the new additions should make a valuable impact on the club with the likes of World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez joining the ambitious project at Stamford Bridge, however, despite the excessive spending and signing of high-quality players, the club are yet to address one of their most obvious issues.

Chelsea have struggled to find a striker who can be a consistent and reliable threat in front of goal with Romelu Lukaku shipped off on a season-long loan to Inter Milan after re-signing in 2021, whilst three-goal outcast, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has failed to hit the ground running since arriving at the club in the summer and Armando Broja is out with a long term injury.

As a result, Potter could save Boehly a massive financial fair paly headache and millions of pounds by unleashing a rising star from the famous Cobham academy with young centre-forward Mason Burstow making a name for himself already.

The 19-year-old earned a nomination for Premier League 2’s Player of the Month this week after an impressive run of form – scoring three goals and registering two assists over the first calendar month.

Since arriving from Charlton Athletic in January 2022, Burstow has established himself as a regular in the U21s with 20 appearances, seven goals and four assists so far and has already been rewarded with a first-team opportunity when he came on against Aston Villa in a friendly.

Judging by a lack of goals from Chelsea’s centre-forwards this term then the “remarkable” Burstow – as dubbed by Liam Twomey – certainly deserves more opportunities to shine judging by his ruthless record to date.

Should the 6 foot 2 ace get that chance, then he would well prove himself as the rightful Lukaku heir in the seasons to club, thus potentially saving Boehly and co millions when considering their options and targets in the summer.

With that being said, the future is looking bright for Burstow at Chelsea and with a deep concern mounting on the club’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, Potter has nothing to lose in giving the young talent an opportunity to shine in the first team. After all, he is already a goal-scorer in the Football League at his tender age.

Lukaku heir? Wells that a disappointing way to put it.
