Alonso is totally out of his depth in a match like this where we don’t have the ball at all. He’s only effective when we’re on the front foot and don’t have to worry as much about the defensive side of things. When he’s completely pinned back like this he’s useless.

Pep knew exactly what to do here. Which is what we’ve tried to do to Liverpool recently. Force the wing backs deep into their own half and totally negate them.

I'd be fine staying as we are, compact and defensive, 0-0 or 1-0 win suits me just fine, commentators can spunk over City all they want, these games do not decide titles, simple as that.

That said, Lukaku is uber frustrated and rightly so, we do not release the ball quick enough at all.

No this is comfortably our worst performance against them under Tuchel. Before you could see the danger we posed but that was toothless. On the ball and off it.

Been like this in most games so far. He makes an excellent run but the likes of Azpi, Mount etc aren’t confident enough to play it through.

If we had prime Cesc in this team Lukaku would feast.

I didn't see many people complaining under Jose/Conte when we had our name etched on the trophy. These games do not decide who wins the title, happy with 1 or 3 points.
