On another note we should look at Darlow as the next back up keeper if he keeps this up, looks a complete keeper.

He was incredible. How does a team like newcastle pull class goalies out of the hat. First now Dubravka then this guy. the save on th efirst shot on werner and the reactionon tammy's header were world class saves.

I agree with you that I should not have done those unnecessary comments on Werner and I will stop doing it.

Like I said in my other post. I thought Werner was good today. Everything I usually criticise him for like his passing, dribbling and first touch was pretty good. His finishing and sometimes decision making today was bad and that can happen like it happens with Tammy sometimes.

Yes, I just want people to judge Tammy and Werner the same. It seems to me like one gets praised for everything good he does, while people focus on the negative things when it comes to the second one.

God, hate it that you have made me sound like an old grandpa here!

Not sure, I am worried about Werner on the left at all. Until his on ball skill improve he will always look average in general but with his speed, power and constant run he is an absolute threat

I think Lampard ball will involve a lot of fast counter attacks and that is where Werner will shine. I thought his ball playing skills were decent today. I don't remember seeing bad technique from Werner today.

This. He dribbles with a lot of pace but his touches are very close to him. Just look at the counter attack for example.

Good win after a tricky international break.

Werner should have scored a couple but he didn't let his misses put him down. He kept running, pushing, being involved till he assisted, shame his goal in the end was offside.

Abraham did well being a presence in the middle.

Mount, Kovacic, chillwell, james, Rudiger and Ziyech were all okay performance wise.

Kante was the man of the match, making tackles and interceptions everywhere. Zouma was a close second.

Mendy was a calm presence in goal, which is great to see.

We need to maintain momentum as our next 5 premier league games are tougher ones. Lamps will have to rotate much more to cope with the festive period

Either him or McCarthy at Southampton. Two GKs who are more than capable I feel, would be very good number 2s.

damn two posts one after each other :)))) fs

The most easiest thing which could had happened was we would have drop the levels & maybe draw or lose the game specially when everyone is going ga-ga about Chelsea plus add to it the international break & key players missing. But hats off to the team, they managed to maintain the momentum and it was a very professional performance. Some hits & misses obviously but 3 points and clean sheet, cant ask for more. Kante is returning to his peak, he is again becoming a nuisance for the opposition and Zouma has started growing in confidence which is heartening to see.

Hope we carry on the momentum in the upcoming fixtures as well. Well played, blues.

Make your way to the Giroud thread and I’ll let you decide

Tammy for sure deserves to start in the league on current form.

But I hope Frank starts Giroud in some of the midweek games, especially in the one coming up again Rennes.

You need keep squad members match fit and performance sharp, because you never know when you will need them.
