When the critical pass is needed he's not exactly Cesc 2.0 by any stretch. And Barkley's ideas are too slow for this team. At £15M or whatever he cost that's an instabuy anymore and I get it. But he should be more of a squad player than he is. Slows everything down. That being said happy with another three points... There's always a reaction after a change of manager, and we did very well to keep them out in the second half. Not a vintage performance, but we had some excellent spells and some of the early-season swagger is starting to return. We now need to continue the momentum. New manager at any club, yet alone a London based club fighting for relegation, will always bring out a better performance. Fulham made it difficult but we could gave scored more I think. Games likes these are more important for the result as opposed to the performance I feel because we had to win with Spurs and Arsenal drawing. I hope this is not his normal, because the passing was nowhere near this level: all backwards and safe passes esp under pressure. Outmuscled easily out of plays and produced little to nothing in attack. Ross' performance was also worrying, but yeah the team was a bit sluggish overall. We have just played 120 min against City and 90 minutes against spurs. Higuain should have buried his chances. 3-1 up and we can be slightly more relax in the 2nd half.
