Chelsea banned for TWO transfer windows

Even if the club is allowed to sign players this window, looks like it will be a short frame of time.

Hope the club is prepared with its targets and will pay the necessary money if the chance comes.

I think it could well also strengthen Sarri's future here too. If we have all this to do this summer, the last thing the club needs too is managerial upheaval.

If it's going to be two years with no movement apart from potential academy players breaking through, we're going to have to back Sarri with players that will suit him and what he is wanting to do.

we now go to the CAS, like a tribunal/court and argue the case... the most they will probably do is move the ban back a window.

do not hold your breath

I expect CAS to reject the deferral as well

I have consistently called this out well in advance, for over a year

I am not going to change my predictions now

when Barca and RM got freezes, the laws were brand new

now they are not

that was said by FIFA when they first upheld the bans, now they have said the same again, and CAS will more than likely agree

in fact, my huge worry is that due to NEW allegations (see below)

the length of the bans may be increased, not shortened (CAS has a history of increasing punishments, although that will NOT happen on the deferral appeal, but could happen down the road if we go back to them again over the bans directly)

that will be DISASTROUS

How British Football Clubs Secretly Signed Youth Talent

It appears that football club FC Chelsea secretly signed underage players. The development could also have direct consequences for FC Bayern Munich's recruiting efforts in Germany.

BAN APPEAL FAILS, GOOD NEWS OR BAD NEWS FOR CHELSEA?

https://chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/ban-appeal-fails-good-news-or-bad-news-for-chelsea/

As we expected, FIFA cocked a deaf-ear to our appeal relating to the recently imposed two-window transfer ban.

Unless Chelsea can take the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and reverse the ban, it’ll not be until this time next year that Chelsea can become active in the transfer market again.

However, those with ice-cold hearts at FIFA did allow Chelsea one small concession, the club are able to sign under-16 players during the ban but only those from the UK.

But is the ban the end of the world or a blessing in disguise?

You can argue for both cases!

There’ll be no big-name signing, apart from the previously signed Christian Pulisic, during this period but it gives those players who are out on loan and those coming through the ranks to make their name.

The side have shown this season they have the capability to have a good season and if the club can use the ban to develop that bond that makes top teams so special, I’m hopeful that the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Reece James can prove that, given the chance, the youth system can be as productive as we all hoped.

But, and it’s a big but, could our plans for next season be scuppered if we allow Eden Hazard to jump ship?

The Official FIFA Statement

https://www.fifa.com/about-fifa/who-we-are/news/fifa-appeal-committee-passes-decision-on-appeal-lodged-by-chelsea-fc

The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to partially uphold the appeal lodged by Chelsea FC against the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to sanction the club with a ban on registering new players at both national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods. This ban applied to the club as a whole – with the exception of the women’s and futsal teams – and did not prevent the release of players.

With respect to all men’s teams, the ban on registering new players, both nationally and internationally for two registration periods, has been confirmed by the FIFA Appeal Committee, with the following exception:

The FIFA Appeal Committee believes that Chelsea’s wrongdoing consisted in not respecting the prohibition from internationally transferring or registering for the first time foreign minor players. In the committee´s opinion, imposing a ban on registering each and every minor would not be proportionate to the offence committed.

Consequently, the FIFA Appeal Committee decided that, as far as youth categories are concerned, the ban shall not cover the registration of minor players under the age of 16 who do not fall under the scope of art. 19 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, which refers to international transfers and first registrations of foreign minor players.

Additionally, the FIFA Appeal Committee confirmed the fine of CHF 600,000. The decision issued by the FIFA Appeal Committee was notified today.

She is even more out of her depth than Sarri imo. She is a business woman, she can do that no problem. But running a the Club, buying players, closing the deals, giving new contracts etc she should stay well out of.

Because this board doesn't understand what football is!

That because they are not footy people, either lawyers or whatever. This is not how you run an elite Club. Until RA comes from hiding or sells, this is what we will get.

The club has confirmed during Sarri's press conference that we'll be appealing the ban with CAS.

We must, aint got no choice. Also, I wonder how this fits in with our own FA telling us it was within the rules to do what we had requested? This must be taken into consideration surely.

Not looking good for this summer....

Window opens in 8 days time, if CAS can get us a hearing as quick as they did for Barcelona, which I doubt, we might get the ban delayed around the end of June, which leaves us 5/6 weeks to sign whatever players are left.

So why is City not banned as well? Fucking joke.

Their time in the barrel will come.

Same for PSG.

The transfer window will open on Thursday, May 16.

However, international transfers will not be possible until the FIFA international window opens on June 9, although for contractual reasons many deals will not be technically completed until July 1 or later.

The transfer window will then close at 5 p.m. BST on Thursday, Aug. 8 -- with the new Premier League season scheduled to begin on the weekend of Saturday, Aug. 10.

No club will be able to buy or loan a player after Aug. 8 -- but they will be able to sign up players who are free agents.
