The Mourinho Thread

Not so sure. The arabs cashflow is quite a bit more fluid.

The set up at Citeh with Qataris is very hands off, as at the other Lancashire club.

Yeah but city after they won the pl they did the Same thing as us. Hardly spent.

And they didn't do as well as before but didn't fall apart like with Mourinho.

This then shows that as long as we can spend money here and there and have an average manager like pellegrini we will be okay.

We are not going to die if we don't have the the "world greatest"

Agree with that, we dont need a Marque manager every time. If Athletico kept all their personnel over the years theyd surely be one of the best in the world. The reality is money talks and bullshit walks.

Definitely need more of a hands off approach from the Russians' inner circle though, the way Ferguson was allowed to get on with it.

Don't wanna be that guy, but its the setup at City with the Abu Dhabians, Qatar's more PSG-Barcelona centric. :D

City's best idea was to hire football men (from Barca) and let them get on with it. José was that for us, but the board didn't back him fully so now we're left with a vacuum. That's where the lack of consistency is evident.

City have a cohesive long term plan whereas we're making it up as we go along.

We might need Lampard then at the hierarchy.

He is smart and polite.

That's what needed when working with the higher ups.

the board backed fully .We were in the relegation battle for crying out loud. The man had to go .His second term with Chelsea has been a failure. The board gave him so much power by letting him sell our future due to his ego .He sold Lukaku, KDB, and Mata mostly because of ego clashes .Then the whole Eva thing. If I were Hazard and I was hurt and the manager is angry at the doctors for running onto the field, then I'd definitely "betray" him too. I want Carlo back here.

I am sorry but that was absolutely not full backing, they backed him October and sacked him in December. Maybe compared to other former sacked managers, he got 1-2 months longer, that's nothing considering how much he means for the fans and how much he's won for us. Can you imagine Barcelona sacking Pep if he was in the same position as Jose was? For the work Jose has done for Chelsea, he at least deserved the full season and not 4 months.

They obviously let him down and didn't back him in the summer when he requested new signings, they could've backed him in January to give him the signings he wanted in the summer, but they haven't. We are qualified in the last 16 as group leaders, if that's not a sign of improvement then I don't know what is. And before you say he spend a lot: the title was won by Chelsea with a negative net spend (profit) plus in the January window in 2015 it was only a replacement for Schurrle because he wanted to leave. Yes Jose needs signings to get the best out of himself and the team, but you're also guaranteed trophies if you let him do that.

Yes, Pep would be sacked by Barca if he was in that position. Though it's hard in Spain.

Really, only what Jose would have to do is to be in top 8. TOP 8, that's all what was required.

I don't like the idea that manager has to spend 50m+ to get out of the bottom half of the table. Chequebook manager to the fullest.

When players like Azpilicueta, JT, Ivanovic, his hardest, most loyal warriors are playing worse there's definitely wrong job by the manager. No two ways about it.

Roman is such a mellow man now. Whenever he is at the game he is enjoying whenever we score like a kid. Now I have an idea that as long as ship will be steady he won't react. No more "2nd in the table is the first loser". I hope that he will bring Didier, JT, Lamps, Zola to work at the club at coaching level. Chelsea are doing great job at youth level and only need the right man to push them forward plus bring the old legends back to keep that identity.

Man Utd: Sack Van Gaal and appoint Mourinho says Hartson

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson says Manchester United should sack Louis van Gaal and appoint Jose Mourinho.

United are on their worst run in 17 years and haven't won in six matches, with their latest defeat being a 2-1 home loss to Norwich City.

“I would get rid of him, he’s taken them backwards,” Hartson said of van Gaal.

“’I'd change it now and I’d bring Mourinho in.

“I wouldn’t be giving this man another penny to spend. He’s spent £250million and they’ve gone backwards," he added.

Mourinho is available after being sacked as Chelsea manager earlier in the week
