This if it was Benitez is the most awful comparison ever.

Of course Jose is going to get more leeway than Benitez with the average Chelsea supporter, because of what he has done at the club (no I'm not saying we should blindly back him because of past glories, but its the way football is, supporters build emotional connections with players and managers that won't evaporate after 5 games).

Drogba was average in his last two seasons off the first spell up until the last two months, did you confront anyone who cutting Drogba a bit if slack with "if that was Pizzaro you would want him sold immediately"? No because Drogba done enough to earn a bit of leeway, Pizzaro didn't.

When Cech had that wobble in 13/14 did you turn around and say "if that was Turnbull......"?

Or anyone cutting Terry a bit of slack at the minute with "if that was Ben Haim"?

I saw plenty of "Drogba is past his time. We need to look elsewhere," "Terry is too old, we need to find a new defender," and "Cech is slipping. Time to bring Courtois back".

If the board sacks Mou in the near future it really shows their incompetence and lack of foresight. They gave this man a 4 year contract extension a few months ago and now to fire him in the near future is quite fickle. If you believed Mou was the right man in the summer, nothing should change now. Mou is still the same man who won the double and the same man who is leading our worst start in over 20 years.

I remember my suggestion to not give him a contract extension was not taken so nicely. Was a bad idea to give Mou a contract extension in the summer knowing his teams have historically peaked in his second season and third seasons have historically been a disaster.

Drogba wasn't the first choice striker in his last two seasons though. It's different for players because you can bench them here and there but you can't do that with a manager.

Allright then, if Hodgsdon took Liverpool to there worst home record in half a century he would hace got chased out of Scouseville, but because it was Dalglish.........

Also Drogba was #1 for the most part, Carlo and AVB both gave Torres a chance but it weren't long before both reverted back to Didier.

I don't understand the whole Hodgson thing no offense but regarding Drogba you clearly talked about his last two seasons. He was 3rd choice in 13/14 and he was the second choice under AVB in 11/12 before Di Matteo took over. In 2011 Drogba had malaria problems he couldn't perform after that so we decided to buy Torres who was absolute horsehit and when Didier decided to step up and perform you know what happened. He didn't get a free way pass he earned his spot over Torres.

I misunderstood but I fail to understand your point though. I'm clearly saying that when players or managers do not perform regardless of their stature in the club they should be criticized. Is criticising even forbidden nowadays? Jose is making huge mistakes by putting Ivanovic in and starting Mikel etc don't you agree?

I want him sacked if he dtarts ivanvic again

Ivanovic can handle maccabi small team. But if he starts against arsenal however, one on one with Sanchez and we concede again from his wing, I'll lose all my remaining hope in Mourinho and turn to MrBlueGuy.

Is losing to Arsenal going to be the final straw?

After arsenal, we have southampton, newcastle, villa and west ham which should be all wins...

Honestly, in those 4 game stretch, if we drop more than 6 points, Jose should be sacked,.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be criticised, its when you said if it was Benitez, that's the part I challenged, of course he would have got a lot harsher criticism, Mourinho no matter what happens from now is a legend in this club, Benitez ain't. The same way Zola could return to manage us, relegate us, yet the fans will still love him, compared to if some randomer came in and did the same then he would be universally despised for taking us down.

The bit about Hodgsdon/Dalglish is the former got chased out of Anfield for a poor spell at the club, Dalglish has an even worse spell in 2012 and is still a hero, point being if you have already built a legacy at a club like Mou and Kenny has here and in Scouseville respectively, there will be people that cut him some slack when they hit the skids.

Exactly. Somehow I do not want him to get axed, because I dread the club to be once again in a managerial merry-go.

Even though, the time will come — probably sooner than later — when we will have to part our way with him. And to be honest, I think he just has a few games to get things right. Unlike Manchester United, we cannot afford to undergo a few dark years. We neither are a major brand nor have we that "history" to fall back upon. To stay at the top, we are heavily dependant to successful results. A year without CL football could prove to be catastrophic for us — especially if that happens after a season dotted with fiasco such as what happened with Carneiro, i.e. a very bad publicity for the club. Moreover, comes May, Manchester City will most certainly have as many PL trophies in their cabinet as us... Just let that sink in... Our rank within English football could take a huge damage...

We clearly have to make things happen — and quickly. However all the odds are against Mourinho here. First off, his past history advocates against him : his first stint at this club, and his spell at Real... and as for Inter one could say he left the ship before it sank. Furthermore, our troubles are not new. They are visible since the start of the calendar year — and I put emphasis upon the notion "visible", as they existed long before that. Though, nothing has been done last season ; the situation was not addressed this summer, quite the contrary ; and nothing is being done to change things right now, i.e. same line-up and mentality/tactics over and over again.

Bearing that in mind, one could certainly wonder is the right manager for the futur. And by that I mean both the end of the seasons and forthcoming seasons. Whether you like it or not, his position at the club has to be questionned. Regardless of the results, if he is not even able to change his intents, whether it be the strategy, the style of play, the tactic or the starting line-up... Then he does not left the club with many choices but to sack him...

It's quite telling about Football fans to be honest and how short-sighted we can be. From January to the end of the season we played rubbish Football, Cesc was atrocious, Ivanovic was at blame for plenty of goals and we had horrible tactics for plenty of important games, like Psg at home.

Now, nothing has changed, except the results. Most of our fanbase keeps on talking about long-term plans and such, but even we are a problem in this crisis.

I'd imagine that Ivanovic will start against Maccabi and how he performs will set his fate in stone. If he's shit on Wednesday and then plays against Arsenal on Saturday then I think I'll change my stance.

If RLC doesn't start this one I will also be annoyed.
