And no, it was foolish not to buy another defender after David Luiz. One in and one out is the rule. The signs was there for everyone to see but not many wanted to see it till now..... Yes, the defense was horrible today, Tottenham terrorized our right side and Cahill was poor when he gave them a penalty.But complaining about our defense this season? Saying we should buy other players? Are you forgetting we only conceded 14 goals in 19 matches and had the best defense in the first half of the league. The defense just had a very poor game, end of. I'm glad the boys showed so much spirit and still went for point when the game was 4-1 or 5-2. Hazard in particular was magnificent. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Add that to the fact that he's done it before in the past. He clearly has his favourites, sometimes to the determent of the team. I don't have complaints about Terry, but he IS slow. So if Matic - who's been really tired and needs to be rested asap - is having a day off, then it exposes our frail defense.José should have Zouma play though. He may make the same mistakes as Cahill, but I think he wouldn't make as many.José has been taking the first team thing farther than necessary because most of our substitutes are out of form, but Zouma ain't one of them. When Matic performs poorly it means our defenders have to defend for themselves, which they are completely incapable of doing (except Azpi but even he got skimmed a few times). The job he does is quite tiring, so 3 games in a week will definitely take its toll on his body. Give Remy minutes to prove what a good player he is.That's the point. Those things aren't mutually exclusive, both players can be great, and that's why we were excited when we signed both Remy and Costa.
