Hold the phone. Jay jay. I wasn't trying to justify his selection, I was telling you what Jose himself said about it after the match. I even questioned his reasoning by saying that I always thought that Ryan was the fitter between the two.

I was merely highlighting the part where you said "he obviously watches training and know who is psychically better" and in the context of my point, "Mourinho trains them and watches them in training. He knows best!" as a reason that people basically used these days to justify his selection/decision and anyone that questions him is wrong etc. But yet under our previous managers, you don't see many or the same people using the same reason to justify their decisions. Instead, all those managers got lambasted most of the time but because this is Mourinho, all sorts of leeway and reasons or even excuses are given..

That's not really the case, though. I've been criticizing Jose on various subjects and decisions since he came back, but I said he knows best regarding this, not because he is Mourinho, but because we were talking about who is physically better. So I said Jose knows better because he gets to see the players train in the gym and make sprints and other physical trainings that we can't see in games. If we were talking about technical ability or any other skill I would not have sad so.

If there was ever a game that Bertrand could show he was capable of doing a shift at LB at the expense of Cole, this was it. Was superb. Was excellent in defence and done ever so well going forward. His work rate was phenomenal and made Myiachi look average. Like I said before, he is not a weak link for us and takes his chances when he gets them. Hope he can get more minutes.

He's kinda like a young Paulo Ferreira with pace. Capable of filling in when needed and generally doesn't get embarrassed by his opponent.

It must be hard for Bertrand though...if he had asked for a move to a mid-table side, he'd most likely be the starting LB..

I dont know why would he only be squad player? With more games given (talking about 20+), he will further develop and he clearly can put shift in games against bigger sides. But at Chelsea, he is marked as sub and Mou wont even realy test him I guess...

This lad aint there yet, but you cant expect too much development from man who isnt being given enough time.

Solid game once again from Bertrand, both defensively and offensively (whenever it happened, not that we attacked a lot). Arsenal hardly did anything of note down his side (or any direction for that matter).
