There's no point because you have no argument. It's not a serious argument. It's fact versus fantasy. I can say 9 goals in 50 games for one of the best offensive squads in the Premier league and all you can come up with us fantasy...no, um...they try harder with Torres so it's harder for him to score....no, you don't get it...like Torres is secretly amazing because um...we have no creativity even though we had the single most creative player in the Premier league last year. It's not fair! I have a poster of Torres in my room!!! He's amazing!!!!!

oh i have an argument but you clearly dont get it so there is no point continuing this with you, i cant take you seriously after that previous post!

Drogba (the legend) scored 16 in his last 60. 5 last year when we struggled and finished 6th and 11 the year before. Not great stats for a guy people use as a bench mark.

Just because Drogba is a legend doesnt mean that he was great all the team. Drogba will be remembered for all the fantastic things he did fo our club and the perfect finish he had on his career in chelsea. If torres would leave today I wouldnt really have that many good memories of him.

And dont foget that Drogba was 33 years old when its started to go down for him and struggled with injurys. Torres should be at his prime now.

So if Torres isnt being provided enough clear chances it has to be the providers that are the trouble? Piss off you sad dipshits. Obviousley u lack the ability to analyze.

We'll just see what happens when Danny is given enough playtime as Torres. THen we'll see if the problem is not recieving enough (as if a striker shouldnt work to BE provided) or if the problem is actually Torres.

The guy sucks. Get rid of him before he drags Chelsea down and why the hell does this thread even excist? There's already a thread dedicated to this guy so why not use it?

Sometimes there's so many excuses for a player, they just look so hopeless, but really they can still become good, the code can be cracked.

But with Torres, i just cannot see it at all, i would bet a lot of money on him not becoming any better in the future, he's just worthless. I see nothing in this one, no legend material or anything.

This is a half joke, but 2 words : ANDY MURRAY

I also remember Drogba in his first 18 months at Chelsea, his finishing was piss poor. Along with his attitude during that period. This was playing for a team which was easily the best in Europe, a team assembled to play to his strengths.

Anyways I'm not getting into it. Seems to be a lot of Torres bashing on the forum, I'm just glad those at the ground tend not to share those opinions, most still sing his name.

No, seriously, explain to me how a striker who has scored 9 goals in 50 matches, has been anything other than crap. But first let me just get rid of some of the usual arguments

1) Chelsea has no creativity-Juan Mata created 3.1 chances per game last season. The most of any single player in the Premier league. Overall, Mata ranked as creating the 2nd most chances in the Premier League, Lampard created the 7th most chances. Yes, two midfielders behind Torres were among the 7 most creative players in the Premier league last season. Chelsea was one of the most creative teams in the Premier league

2) Teams park the bus against Chelsea- No, they don't. Maybe they did a few years ago, but do you remember anyone in the past couple of years playing super defensively who didn't play super defensively anyway? (say, Stoke). Anyway, this argument is nonsense because teams like City, ManU, Arsenal, and Spurs all had their strikers score more and any team that would have played especially defensively against Chelsea would have done the same against them.

3) Teams go out of their way to stop Torres-Even if that's true, who cares? Every defence tries to stop the opposition's striker. Torres has gotten no more special treatment from defenders than Grant Holt.

4) We don't play the right system-Since Torres has come to Chelsea, we have had 3 coaches and 3 systems and Torres has been bad in all of them.

I'd love to hear what super secrets you have that justify not only accepting ineptitude but pretending ineptitude is actually world-class talent.

Spot on mate

Drogba was bought to Chelsea after just one good season and that was in the French ligue. Ofcouse he needed some time to adapt (and he still scored more goals than torres during his first 2 seasons in a new club, league and country). Compare that to Torres who was bought in after being dubbed as one of the best strikers in the world.

And there is a good reason why Drogbas attitude was bad in the begining, im not going to write it though. Check it up youself.

Ivanovic also defended team-mate Fernando Torres, insisting the striker was "doing very well" and "fighting for every ball".

He added: "Sometimes he is alone without the support of others and it is very difficult to fight against three defenders."

Well, its not like Ivanovic would go out in the media and say " Torres is shit and i want him out of the club."

ok thanks for that, just repeating the same argument that everyone has heard a million times well done.

Now please explain to me who is even arguing whether Torres has been good or not? because i certainly wasn't!

just another reason why its so pointless having any kind of debate with you.

.

Yes he did, in a team which dominated the domestic league. Drogba first full season saw him score 16 in all competitions. Torres scored 11 in a team which was struggling.

I'm not gonna hate on the guy like some in this forum. I still believe he has what it takes, he started well this year and I fully expect him to score 20 plus goals this season. Something Drogba only did twice.
