Henrique 9,133
Torres is getting boring.Try to run and then fall. Try to keep the ball and then lost it. Try to dribble, and lost the ball. When the defender gets closer he dives and ask for a foul. Its been this way since he joined.
tmessy 139
the back 4 today swarmed him... he busted his ass running today but he needs to play with another striker to get that pressure off him... his link up play is good...but today is the first time when i can actually say he got no service, our midfield was pushed so far back, the most of his possession was in the midfield... fuck...chelsea just doesnt suit his style of play... thats it... he did play well today and hustled, really appreciated it, but we need more service for him...im pretty much done with el nino on the fact that we dont suit his style of play... we shouldve snatched dzeko, llorente, or cavani, we need a big guy to set the little blonde headed fuck free and let him run circles around the back line..the thing is we are all so used to DD holding up the ball and PLOWING through the line... torres IS NOT that player, and we need to realize this...just need to get him a parter... dont know why we didnt try DD and torres more... could've been gold... but oh well...anyways.. get a partner or Torres my friend, you have to leave... Rubber bullets 1,183
Frank's probably the better striker atm. The reason why we lack efficiency in front of goal is that our best finisher Mr Frank Lampard is restricted to a defensive role.I guess you forgot last season when he was god awful a lot of the time when he was played in more attacking position (maybe not in scoring, but certainly in terms of possession of the ball, passing, retaining the ball and tactical awareness), there is a good reason RDM has never played him in more advance positions. Especially now we have a bunch of players coming in who are better suited for advance role. Its time Lampard accepts he should be more defensive and disciplined in his performances, stop running into the box like a headless chicken and let the likes of Oscar, Mata and Hazard do their jobs. That is what they are there for.

He can score goals out of nothing, he is a clinical finisher and he knows how to position himself to nick in the rebound, he has the killer instinct, Torres seems to have lost. I do not remember one match when he was awful in a more offensive role. I remember him playing CAM under AVB (Stoke, Bolton, Sunderland) when he was great. Even when Torres was in that 5 months goal drought Lampard gave a more shit performance in those games then he did.Face the facts, Lampard is not the player 5 years ago. He needs to do what Scholes and Giggs done and adapt his game to a more defensive role, because the way he is playing (trying to act like he is in Jose's 4-3-3 formation) is jeopardizing the balance of the team, is getting in the way of Oscar, Mata and Hazard from doing their roles and he is too slow to make up loss ground creating gaps in midfield. He is finished as an attacking force, he either adapts or drops out of the team. He is not efficient in a 4-2-3-1 in most games but our best option for the dlp role. Nonetheless he can't defy his natural offensive instincts. Anyway the 4-2-3-1 is simply playing him and Ramires out of position. In a 4-3-3 he still can be an attacking force as its his natural position. Of course he has to be used more sporadically but when he is used he has to be rather offensive.

Because if he can't play in any other way then this is going to be a huge long term problem for him (even medium term). But I think this conversation should be in a more appropriate thread, this is not the place. Waterfall 893
I think the day that Torres finally gets booed by the home crowd isn't far. He's been given enough time and chances to prove himself and he's failed to look even average. Also fuck this lack of service and suitability crap. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Sturridge really should start against Stoke. Torres is not far from being benched. I'm one of his biggest defenders and fans but we simply need a striker who will score us goals and lead our attack with some conviction. A clinical striker is what we're missing. royg

Ryan Fong 2,776
I understand all the bashing and Torres indeed wasn't good enough. However some of the comments are quite harsh, you can tell he tried hard and our second goal was initiated by his hard work.He should really learn how to stay upfront instead of roaming to the wings and midfield, he needs to realize he is the only forward on the pitch right now and be a true talisman.I will still support him wholeheartedly as long as he stays as a Chelsea player. RamiCFC9 258
Sad to say but he is sooo past it at top level, should be dropped/sold.Like Nachikethas said we are almost playing with 10 men when he is on.Not good enough anymore, he is trying but every1 can try really, you need class aswell however. BlueLion. 21,491
Shevchenko tried. Every game, and each goal was deserved. Torres deserves nothing but boos. The support for him from our fans is incredible, mind. I don't know what he's done to earn that level of support. Time for him to fuck off and for the club to spend big on Cavani or Falcao - or be a little more prudent and sign someone like Huntelaar or Llorente.
