Jase 43,479
TBH, I don't think Benitez deserve much credit nor criticisms for today's result. It has more to do with the performances of the players than anything else. He fielded a strong side to get the 3 points we need but the players hardly turned up till Benteke got sent off and made necessary changes when needed (except maybe not bringing Torres on earlier for Ba). That's it really.
The Skipper 20,609
So when something goes wrong it is automatically Rafa's fault, but when things go well it is just random luck or 'common sense'? Give me a fucking break. I'd really like to see some people's comments if it was anyone but Benitez in charge. It's a big trend on this forum to make yourself look more of a fan, more important to google random facts regarding Chelsea, slate unpopular figures when you've got nothing personal against them and remind the 'good old days', when we weren't able to win Premier League, let alone Champions League/Europa League.No. If you've seen my posts regarding Benitez, you'll see me give credit to him where it's due. I'm talking about yesterday's game specifically - bushman was basically claiming that Rafa's decision to sub in Luiz at H/T was a great tactical move when to me and many others it was common sense. That's what I was talking about.I'm fair against Benitez, I'll give him credit when it's due, but he hasn't done anything spectacular overall and didn't do anything spectacular yesterday and you know it. He's just done an average job.

nachikethas 1,154
My situation is exactly like kojo said, want to give credit for him a moment then boom all gone. I hate him could never like him but he earn my respect.he is a good professional, people says he only cares about himself but don't agree with that because its his job, he don't care about the fans -absolutely true because it requires passion for the club, But we aren't expecting that from him.overall he done a decent job not tremendous, but the back four became solid which was a mess under rdm. When comes to substitutions oh boy do i need to continue. We had a lot of interim managers over these years and most of them won cups, Rafa may win Europa(even though am not very optimistic about it),but i feel he had the most difficult task of all of them.not only because of the abuses that we give him but also the quality in the dressing room and the changes that happened in terms of style and size.but the sad thing is that we don't know what rdm could have done in a full season. Stingray 9,441
Considering he is an interim he sure did ok after a dodgy beginning. We got a CL ticket and are in a final. He also made a great move when he diverted everyones attention with his infamous talk where he talked about being a temp and he will be out of here by the end of the season. That took the pressure off, I believe. Our team started playing better imo. Still, we just cannot say it is CAUSED by Benitez. All we can claim in all humility is that it correlates with our team performances. So .... He did ok. Mission accomplished. Some of his tactical intervention remain highly suspicious - if he was a player i would see he lacks consistency. None of that matters anymore. Now its time to build towards a more permanent fundament and regain a new identity with this young talented group of players. We will need a good Skipper for that mission

bushman 2,043
Rafa was told to qualify for CL. He has done it. Despite questionable subbed over the games, RAFA must be given credit for it.The club is in the final of EL. An added bonus here. Another compliment should be given.Recently, the team had won several key games & is playing fairly well. One meaningful game to be played on Wednesday, hopefully Chelsea can win it despite some injuries.Afterwards, Rafa is gone. Most likely, Jose will be hired & you all can complain about his selections, then.

Ollie 4,400
I think he deserves a lot of credit because one way or another he has guided us to the UCL and considering the run of games that we've had to play, we've navigated through it by hook or by crook, we have done. Also the amount of games he's given Lampard to break the record is commendable. He's played him in the right games and kept him fresh. Under AVB it seemed like Lampard's Chelsea career would just peter out and end in unspectacular fashion but Benitez has used him well and has got him playing well. If we do end 3rd and win on weds i will be very appreciative of the job Rafa has done.
Changingman_2000 876
Two games, just two games. The end of season tour he is involved in is nothing more than a irreverence.
Blue Gino 377
Aside from Lampard's record, this was a miserable season and beating Benfica might be a consolation to some but not me. Standards have dropped considerably when Benitez views this as a successful season and Chelsea are being linked to Wayne fucking Rooney and fans actually would welcome that chia pet lab rat.
