It's just he could and should have gone for himself but didn't. Don't want to bring up the whole goals debate again because it's tiresome but he really should be scoring at least 20+ goals per season. Will never reach Messi/Ronaldo goalscoring level but definitely capable of achieving at least 20 every season. You do have to go down a bit on the BBC page till you find one of our players in top scorers.. Is kinda poor considering.

The one on one in about the 50th minute he took an extra touch that forced him a little wider and the keeper saves it. Needs that bit of ruthlessness to become an elite player chances are unfortunately he'll probably get it when he leaves us.

BlueLyon 9,359
I agree his performances in CL have been poor often considering the level he plays at in PL, but lets look at this from another angle. PL teams are one thing, CL is whole different league of quality. Hazard is playing in bang average squad. Hell some Sevilla/Monaco/Borussia have more quality and organisation in attack. We have strong defence though, but my point is about attack and techical ability of midfielders (or lack off). People love to dig at Eden for every bad game, but he gets little proper support. Compare his close teammates (Alonso, Cesc, Morata, Willian) to the likes of Neymar, CR, Messi,...teammates play with. Put him in Real or Barca and its guaranteed he becomes twice better. I see where you're coming from...and there's also evidence of his quality, like the game he had against Athletico Madrid away.

Jase 43,479
What to make of Hazard's performance today? We took a much more offensive approach than usual and he didn't have to play as the 'False 9' but yet, he went AWOL after like 30 minutes.

Figo even won the Ballon D'or during a time when football was littered with top teir talents from all over Europe. I think their is a just case when questioning Edens mentality to become the very best and turn up on the biggest stage in European football. What can't be questioned is his commitment. Figo was a boss!

A number of rumours have said Zidane wants the latter instead.
OneMoSalah 8,886
Another big game and another no show. The possibility of losing the likes of Azpilicueta or Kante is more a concern for me than Hazard, purely based on his commitment to the club in terms of effort and the lack of performances in the bigger games in the last few months when the pressure has builded up on the manager and players. All the talent in the world yes but key games against City, United, Barca x2? He played well for 30 minutes in the United game but has done nothing else. If he’s trying to force his wayout then fair enough, seen a lot of hate aimed at Willian in the past 3 or 4 years for playing nowhere near as poorly as Hazard did in those games. Actually thought Willian again has been our best player when we’ve struggled as a team.

Actually thought Willian again has been our best player when we’ve struggled as a team.  Hazard DOES perform in the 'big' games when we play in domestic competitions; it's only really in Europe that he seems to struggle for us. He was our best player in the CL during the 2014/15 season (including against PSG), and he played very well against Atletico earlier this season as well. Other than that though, Willian has generally outperformed him in Europe (during our run to the semis in 2013/14 (including games against PSG and Atletico); over the entirety of the awful 2015/16 season (most notably in the crunch game against Dynamo Kiev and against PSG), and of course over the two legs against Barcelona this season)). If we could just work out a system that gets both players firing simultaneously more often than not, we'd have the potential (with one or two additional tweaks) to deploy one of the most devastating attacks in club football, but alas..... Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted March 15, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted March 15, 2018 Hazard is playing for Chelsea since 2012. Thats 6 years. He is yet to produce a single great performance in UCL. I think thats really odd some people still act like he is a world class player who will leave Chelsea because Chelsea don't have ambition. lol DDA, Valdo, pHaRaOn and 3 others
