Least we can all breathe now that Johnson is out.

one more cunt to go and I will relax

the fanbase is already going insane against the Ricketts

FAR more than any other bid (I do not think may took Woody 'yes I cupped both Trump's and BoJo's nuts in a No 10 loo' Johnson seriously as he is just not wealthy enough)

why on earth would you invite that chaos into the club?

I feel like there will be an explosion of anger and protests if Ricketts wins out. Surely, surely those choosing are aware of that, right? They would not only be highly controversial off the pitch but a disaster off it by being tight with their money.

Imagine putting Tuchel in the position of having to answer questions about the racist family of the brand new owner in day 1. And imagine the Ricketts family showing up at the Bridge with their young children and hearing the entire stadium booing them and telling them to fuck off on their very first trip. No to Ricketts signs all over the place.

You'd hope so!! Fans making their feelings known already so why would you take that risk? They'll never be welcomed and forever hated from the start really

Protests will go in one ear and out the other.

Boycotting matches on the other hand....

I'm certain that the Ricketts bid 'on paper' is the one that Raine and the club wanted to choose. It seems to be transparently the best funded, and some of the bits that have been leaked such as experience owning a sports team, developing a stadium, etc they seem to tick most boxes.

I think the fall-out across social media regarding them has spooked Raine and the club and it's delayed all the proceedings.

I'm not sure whether they believe delaying the process gives everything chance to die down but I just don't see that happening. If the storm is there already this will just escalate into something incredibly volatile and toxic.

At present, from all I've seen the Boehly bid seems the smartest option but let's see how things develop.

How much money does this Broughton guy actually have? Because Googling him shows not much. Seems like the only reason he and Seb Coe are being considered is because they’re Chelsea supporters and that they’d be the most palatable to the British press/government.

At least with the Boehly and Candy consortium’s there’s some seriously big money backing them.

Broughton has said that he has significant investment in his bid, obviously not himself as you mentioned he doesn't have the personal wealth for this.

But his experience as Liverpool chairman during an extremely difficult period for them and from what I've read, the general respect he commands seems to make him a very credible person to front a bid, and I would expect someone like him to have found some pretty decent sources of funding.

I would assume if he has made the shortlist, there will have to be more transparency soon with his investors but rumours suggest the bloke who owns the Sacramento Kings is one, and Harris and Blitzer are another. Harris and Blitzer currently own nearly 40% of Crystal Palace between them which would create an issue if they can't divest that investment (rumours suggest that they could). I guess one argument however would be would we be willingly accepting of someone prepared to dump an investment at the drop of a hat because a better or bigger opportunity arises.

The Boehly bid also fills me with more confidence primarily because (1) he made a bid for us a couple of years ago and therefore has surely done more significant due diligence over a longer period on the club. An investment this large, to carry out the due diligence within a couple of weeks I think has to be a concern; and (2) his inner circle seems to be smaller and they have worked together on previous investments and ventures which I think is important for ensuring there is more likely to be agreement within the board room.
