You may have noticed by the fact that the Lampard thread is locked that we are trying to minimize the talking about Frank while all the emotions are high. It will be opened tomorrow when everyone has calmed down.

Thread locked.

for me his "legend status" is in limbo. and dependent on us winning the league. scoring an equaliser for a rival , is not something i will forgive easily (especially as he said he wouldn't play for another prem club)

He gave us the respect we deserve and we gave it back.

Top pro, top player and he just did what Frank Lampard does best.......scores goals.

I mentioned this in the post match thread and I am going to put it here as well now since this was locked at the time.

I have changed my opinion on the Lamps situation. When it all happened I was upset and angry.

Watching him after his goal, he just got up and walked away. He looked gutted. After the game he barely acknowledged the City fans and went straight to the Chelsea fans. It looked as if he was going to burst into tears. In 3 post match interviews of his I have seen of his, he always referred to City as 'City' or 'this club', he never used the words 'us' or 'we'. I don't think he feels any affiliation with them at all. He is a Chelsea boy at heart and always will be.

And as for people who say he shouldn't have scored? He is a professional footballer! His job is to do the best for Manchester City. That's why they pay his wages! He is not going to gather the ball, turn around and hoof it clear is he!

He may have taken two points off us yesterday but after all the points he won for us over the years, all the championships, cups and memories. I'll forgive him for it

Rape and rape!

You can't blame him for scoring the goal. He's a top professional and I'd be disappointed in him if he did not give his best.

But you can blame him for choosing to go to a direct rival and putting himself in a position where he needs to play against us and try to take points off us.

It's funny how people are portraying him as the victim here. He chose to go there, he takes full responsibility for that decision.

i would not have been dissapointed as I have said many times, he didnt owe them anything. If he misses kicks noone on either side would have been bothered.

I agree he put himself in that postition all this he wont play against us if he goes on loan to City, funny he seemed to be playing and scoring.

I am really bored of it all, i have heard even on the main news how wonderful it was Lampard screwed Chelsea.

It was safer when this was locked. We all don't need to go over it again and again.

He is an ex player who cost us two points and the victory against City.

End of story, thats all I will say.

There is absolutely no need to lock this if people can be civil and debate things properly without insulting or just being immature.

It's has nothing to do with being safe, the forum should be free flowing and locking a thread is the last resort for staff members because the site is foremost the important thing. We will decide if it needs locking so in the mean time you feel so strongly then don't post in here.

I think some people are over reacting to Frank's decision. His original intention was to join New York City, but the relationship between Man City and New York City is such that a loan move from New York to Man City is more appealing to the clubs than a loan move to another club. - For example, I suspect that New York will be paying Frank's wages at present and will have also allowed him to move on loan without a fee. This will therefore aid Man City in the FFP requirements.

People need to see past the badges of the clubs. The relationship between New York City and Man City and the likely FFP bonuses that Man City are likely to receive would have undoubtedly twisted Frank's arm.

I admire Frank for everything he has done for Chelsea and wish him the best of luck with the rest of his career. Anyone with different thoughts should have a good think about what qualities they look for in a player/person.
