According to BBC Mignolet is close to sign for Liverpool..

Don't get it, from relegation fight to low midtable, he can get better.. Let's hope he's not signing for the history..

It looks like Suarez really wants to leave:

Speaking to Marca he said: "First I have a contract with the club, but if one day I want to sign (for another club), Liverpool will hear the offer, as it does with other players.

"They must agree with other teams, but the word of the player, in this case mine, is important. If you need a change, you should listen to the player.

"Every player aspires (to be the best) and if you ask a child of eight years they would say one day they would go to Real Madrid or Barcelona."

And Isco to decide after the tournament he is in:

“I know nothing new and if I did then I would not say,” Isco joked to reporters today ahead of La Rojita’s preparations.

“I will decide my future after the European Championship.”

I'd take Morata. As a reserve player.

I think he'll be lucky to reach the heights of Negredo one day. Hopefully he'll become something more like Soldado though as I like him for some odd reason. I think he was the first young Spaniard I properly started tracking a few years ago.

Would much rather sign Jese.

He said himself that he will seek a move if real buy a striker! So we could have a chance signing him.

So he will leave Madrid because they add another striker to Benz, and join Chelsea who already have 3 strikers and are looking to add another :D

Godin is inconsistent. Reminds me of Agger in a few ways. I wanted him 2 seasons ago. I don't think he'd be a good buy. Hopefully the link is just made up.

If we do indeed sell Luiz, which I'm doubting, I hope we consider Musacchio as under Mourinho his career could be given new life. Very cheap too.

Another option would be Ezequiel Munoz who just got relegated to Serie B with Palermo. Exact same can be applied. Career needs given new life, loads of potential, not filling it. Very cheap too.

I'd prefer Musacchio out of the 2 however as his positioning is better and he's less aggressive.

Oh also, it'd be nice to sign Luis Muriel before he becomes one of the best strikers in the world

Reminds me of #9 Ronaldo. Just not as clinical.

Colombia is actually getting a golden generation of players.

They where awesome in the early nineties with El Pibe, Asprilla, Valencia, Higuita and such.

But after the whole drug cartel problems, Colombia took a drastic turn.

Now they are starting to get back.

We should consider having a look at the market from the future on. As we did with Belgium and capitalize on some promising talents.

And yes Muriel is an interesting prospect. He recently signed a long term contract with Udinese.

What are people's thoughts on Soldado? He's been quoted as saying he would be open to moving to the Premier League.

He wouldn't be my first choice, but taking Cavani and Lewandowski out of the equation I don't see many better options that may be available for a fairly reasonable price on the market.

Always liked him. A no nonsense type striker is what we've needed here for years.

i think we could go after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. he would only cost around £10m. would be 24 by the new season and scored 19 goals and got 9 assists in the french league last season. he is really fast and talented and with the right service he could be a monster.

That's why I did not mention the signings of Hazard and Mata and such because those signings were necessary. But spending big does not always mean getting better quality. I don't want to get into the Schurrle discussion here, but I think we can all agree that we could have someone similar to him in may be half the price. And spending 60m on one player is just ridiculous. That is what I mean with change of transfer policy, I'm not saying we should become Everton and never spend more than 10m, just that for every Mata there should be an Azpi.

Who could we get that is similar to Schurrle for half the price?

I agree with the spending 60m on one player part. Don't mind Cavani here but the price is just ridiculous. That's one sticking point but another one is we don't really have other quality options available out there that will suit us. I desperately want to see us buy Lewandowski (for only 30m Euros FFS!) but he seems certain to join Bayern and there's hardly anyone else. (don't come saying Ba-Torres-Lukaku as STs is enough please!) That is unless we get desperate and go for Rooney, Gomez....

Mata cost less than Schurrle. Don't tell me you think Andre is better? We also bought KDB for 7m and he is better as well. We sold Danny for 12m and he is the most similar player to Schurrle I could think of. Point is, we paid over the top for Andre.

I stand with what I told you the other day on twitter: We will NOT sign a striker this window. We have three strikers for a system that only utilizes one of them, and even of loan Lukaku out, neither Ba nor Torres are going anywhere. You can't just keep needlessy throwing big money at your problems. That is the mentality we need to get rid of. In fact needlessly throwing big money is what created this problem when we bought Torres.

We can't keep spending just for the sake of spending to get the shiniest name out there. Spending big does not mean solving problems, in fact if we look at our recent history, our "average" money signings have mostly worked much better than the big money signings.

Funny. Those players you mentioned, we either have bought them or sold them. Get where you're coming but your inability to name a player that is similar to Schurrle right now and cost half of the price we bought him makes your point rather invalid here. You have the point but no name to back it up.

We already had that discussion. Won't go into that again...
