Drogzola 283
You can never tell if a player is going to be a great fit you have to give the player a chance and if he wants it enough he will take it. This guy shows determination and for me has a great future ahead of him if he keeps focused. I for one want to see him play at Chelsea with a correctly rotated squad. Lets build another LEGEND of Chelsea FC and not waste a great opportunity. Drogba himself didn't have the greatest start to his career and now we are forever grateful for what he has done. Time will tell.
YouNameIt 1,511
What happened before isnt relevant anymore. This guy has huge potential, anyone who isnt stuipid can see that, and he needs to start playing. If Drogba leaves and no other striker is bought then indeed keep him IF he will get some decent playtime. In any other case, he needs to go on a loan.Stoke isnt a good option like Sloth said. I would love to see him loaned out to a team like Fulham, Wigan or Aston Villa.
LucasRiver 31
We must change the formation and play with 2 strikers, Torres and Lukaku (or the sign) for that way lukaku and others will have most appearances in the next season
Kostas 1,468
Lukaku is 19, don't expect any sort of change in formation to accommodate him until he's ~22.
skeeo 37
Would love a change in formation to 2 strikers regardless of whether it is Lukaku or someone else leading the line
Slam Dunk 1,442
Interesting that he previous manager has said that the reason Lukaku wasn't getting much game time was because Chelsea were reconditioning his body. Apparently he was too muscular at Anderlecht. Saw a pic of him on twitter and he really has lost a lot of mass. Hopefully we should see him in action a lot more next season. Kostas 1,468
It's no secret that he was overweight. Not only he was getting so big he didn't resemble a footballer but from what I've seen Lukaku didn't know how to fully take advantage of his mass. Afaik the club stopped weight training as soon as he arrived. Luckily he's still young so his individual training most probably comprises of footwork rather than gym. Tobey Gibson 14
Yes looks very different. But I always thought his power an his body are his best atributes???The Blackburn made me think of playing him more next season. Such as this years rotation between Torres and Drogba. Of course some more time for Fernando, but this guy has to play! robdog
Hamilton 2,120
I hope he shines on the USA tour, he looked very good against Blackburn, way better then in his first months..
Bir_CFC 3,455
Torres with Mata in the hole is first choice. Lukaku with Sturridge as second striker should be 2nd choice. We get to keep the same formation and everyone plays in their best positions.Torres (Lukaku)LW (Hazard, Ramires) - Mata (Sturridge) - RW (Marin, Hulk)
Blue Traveler 256
He need to be sent on loan! he wouldn't get that much needed experience as expected from him in Chelsea because of the size of our squad. and IMO the best place for him is spain or italy! DH1988 1,348
Just read that he has something to prove in pre-season however several times this season the Chelsea staff have had to almost carry him out of nightclubs at the early hours of the morning.Hope he gets his head down and makes a real go of his career here, certainly has the physical attributes to do so. We Hate Scouse 10,326
Carry him out of nightclubs? I find that very hard to believe he seems a very mature and sensible person.
Manuf 1,448
Lol, could it be that he didn't play because our dear striker is not only a monster of a human but also a huge party beast? Still waters run deep
