Ok this is fucking laughable. What exactly has Lukaku shown at International level? Also Belotti's all round play is head and shoulders above Lukakus. Cant comment on Morata, havent seen enough of him.

He's 10 goals away from becoming the all time TOP scorer in the history of Belgian National team (and this at the age of 23...)

But if you only rate him on how many World Cup/European Cup finals goals... He's done absolutely nothing at all!!

We must look deeper
Bernardo Silva is 50 +25 bonus for a player who plays in a weaker championship, nothing says he will also be performing in PL
Bernardo Silva Monaco: 22 years 11 goals 10 assists 7.22 rating
Eden Hazard Lille: 21 years 20 goals 16 passes 7.80 rating

Romelu Lukaku is a full-fledged striker, who marks both right and left as well as the head.

He is accustomed to PL

He is considered a trained player in England

Even if he does not improve he should score at least 20 goals and if he progresses still he will fight for the top scorer every year

All this is taken into account in its price.

Morata, Belotti are great strikers but they have never played in PL

A Morata 170 games 58 goals 23 assists 6.85 rating
A. Belotti 111 games 45 goals 12 assists 6.99 rating
R Lukaku 204 games 96 goals 30 assists 7.11 rating

Maybe Lukaku was the least risky bet.

Sorry for my bad english but it's only 3 months I'm learning.

I see where you are coming from, but I disagree with you.
While I do enjoy the WhoScored ratings, they are just numbers that do not take everything into consideration.

B.Silva was rarely the finisher, nor the main star in Monaco. Hazard was the superstar of Lille who took penalties and was put in goalscoring positions. Silva excels in retaining the ball, passing and using his technique to create space for others. They are both on a very high level, but have different roles. Silva still had a respectful return, and also performed in the CL.

Lukaku is a very good goal-scorer, but those goals has come in teams where he gets a lot of space. Many of his strengths would evaporate against packed defenses, and while I do not doubt that he can still score a respectful amount, I just doubt that he is going to become a high impact player that can change the game on his own. That is something that you must be able to ask of a player costing £100m.

I would like to think that when clubs pay big money for young players, there is also an expectation/hope that the player in question is able to take the next step in his development when surrounded by better players than before. I wrote some time ago that I was hoping Conte could help Lukaku become more than he is today, but honestly I am not sure that there is much more. Lukaku is a player that is fast, very strong and a capable finisher, and in my opinion his development curve has hit its peak. Is the player he is today worth £100m? I would absolutely disagree with that. I think that Belotti and Morata have yet to show how they would perform week in and week out as the spearhead of a good teams attack, and therefore it is harder to value them for me.

Will Lukaku score goals wherever he goes? I think so.
Is he a player that you want in the CL against elite defenders, or in the PL against teams parking the bus? In my opinion no.

The problem is that whomever Chelsea gets, there will be a risk attached. I do however prefer buying a player that I believe can become world class, rather than one I believe will never reach it.

There are also numerous Belgian and Everton supporters who thought £80m was way too much for him.

At least this is a positive to rub in the face of manutd fans

heh Lukaku is def an old school type of player/striker.

More like aguero (minus the technique) in terms of work rate than say Jesus (or Costa).

IMO this high fee makes this signing a pretty big gamble for whoever gets him.

These are the most pointless stats ever. Average speed and number of sprints? Who the hell cares about them? Doing 100 sprints in 90 minutes doesn't make you a good striker but netting 25 goals in a season does.

With all the talk about signing a striker people seem to forget about Michy, a striker who netted a goal every 47 min (skewed stat which he obviously couldnt sustain when he'd play more as a starter but still).

I'm more worried about right wing tbh. A class winger opposite Hazard would mean so much more for this team.

People also fail to remember that due to is ability to stay in the PL Lukaku also counts as HG player which is a huge need for us as we seem to be losing English players in the first team as well as HG players. This will not only matter in the Premier League but also in a CL. The only HG player to score above Lukaku in PL was Harry Kane and how much would he go for especially with "English Tax" . I read a stat that said only 4 players scored more against "top 6" PL opposition last year - Alli, Vardy, Hazard, Sigurdsson - than Big Rom.. I think a lot of us are vastly underrating his ability and him going to United is not a good thing no matter how you look at it.. Yes there are many strikers that may have better technique than Lukaku but at the end of the day if we win everygame 1-0 and he scored the goal it won't matter.. Just my view of this whole situation

I dont think it addresses a single thing that I wrote in my answer to you. If anything, the conclusion seems to be that Lukaku will get goals, something I clearly wrote several times.
