bababoom 4,478 Posted March 5, 2012 Share Posted March 5, 2012 I still feel sorry for the guy... i mean that daily mail article was disheartening to read, he slept at the training ground for god sake... while the players just go home after a 3-4 hour training session, they got it lucky ffs.I have no doubt he will be a great manager... he was the only manager who dropped Kalou, Malouda etc he knew that we needed wingers and a playmaker while managers in the past didn't have the slightest clue. Justin_3d 1,140 Posted March 5, 2012 Share Posted March 5, 2012 giving Studge his 1st team spot, gett'n rid of Anelka, try'n to get rid of Kalouda, bringing in a very hott doctor, bringing in a club legend like DiMatteo, try'n to give youngsters a chance (mellis, kaby, clifford etc. on pre season)... buy'n a good player with loads of ptential for 5 Mio Pounds (Romeu), bought one of the worlds best footballers for me at a bargain price at 23 Millions.wanted to get rid of Bossy but didnt get a propper right back at the market (Perreira)...working twelve hours a day and TRY'N to guide everybody commited to the team and make the team look like a unite (he try'd to implement the squad being together as much as possible with haveing lunch and meal together, with resting and training all at the trainingground and not come and go), he wanted to splitt up the little cliques at the Changeing room Lamps/JT, Drogs/Mikel/Kalou, FloMo/Anelka, Bossy/.... actually nobody liked bossy...he did very or tried very very good things... but maybe he tried too much in an too short period of time... still ppl on this board wanted him to do more...Like people said, right men at the wrong time.In part Roman also got his fault for trying to rush him.In time all I can say is that Roman treats AVB with respect, like he supposedly done with Mourinho after he left.So that one day when he is ready AVB might have compassion of Roman and have forgiving him as "supposedly" Mourinho is suppose to have with Roman. Chelsea, even before Abramovich, have a long history of making stupid decisions. I stand by what I said on twitter, that I had equally ill-tempered feelings as I had the day I woke up and saw the breaking new "José Mourinho has left Chelsea Football Club." I don't even care that he hadn't got the results we wanted, everyone knows the problems at Chelsea. From the hierarchy of executive suits - who think they know about football - to our infamous old guard who've developed such a say in the club's political affairs that progression is virtually impossible.Every season we lose a manager, is a season I love a slight bit of passion for this club. I was absolutely gutted when Hiddink left us, I was very upset/proud of what he'd achieved and that guard of honour after the FA Cup final epitomised the effect he'd had on the club. I was optimistic with Ancelotti but that quickly wore off. A gentleman of football, the sport needs more characters like him, but not at this club where we needed someone to grab the old school attitude of this squad by the throat.In walks André. Delighted. Not just because of what he's achieved at Porto. He represented a change in ideology in our stupid board, a change that for once they weren't going with established, that they were prepared to start a while of transition with the final years of that paying dividends. Yesterday was an awful today. The stuff I was reading for the Daily Mail (Don't start..) was, literally, sad. From reading how much time he spent at Cobham, to reading how he learnt of his departure.8 managers in 9 years. I repeat, 8 managers in 9 years. Ferguson, Wenger & Pardew all know what's wrong at this club. Scolari knows, Ancelotti knows, Hiddink probably knows too! I read Roman 'read the riot act' to the players, but I'm yet to see if that's true. If it is, I fully expect to hear we're going to cease contract renewal talks with Kalou, Drogba, Malouda and anyone else's who's contract is up this season.We're the club who made bold moves like make Gullit a player-manager & followed up with.. Making Vialli a player-manager too! That was how the club showed respect to the fans, they would take a club hero and take a risk. With both those guys we actually had more good moments than not. We went from that to sacking fellow heroes like Clarke & Wilkins.. Yes he has this band of yes men who are furthering their agendas, but Roman is no baby. He's a billionaire and a high-flying businessmen but it's hard to believe that with some of the decisions he takes that are akin to shooting himself in the foot. He goes out of his way to get these managers, pays obscene amounts of money to get who he wants and then backs out at the first instance of a little trouble. Why cannot he maintain a modicum of confidence in his own decisions? It's one thing for the board cretins to 'advise' him, but the final decision rests with him. We're grateful and full of respect for everything he's given to the club, truly! But there's a point where you say "are you.. Are you actually serious?" We've heard person beyond person say he's actually quite knowledgeable in the game so he's not stupid. He knows exactly what it's cost the club to hire & fire managers while he's been in charge. He knows our players are truly past their best & he knows he made the cardinal sin when he let Mourinho leave this club. It's about time he develops patience because we're losing ours. I think he tried to do things his way and he didn't seem to mind who he upset. Fair play to him for that and I admire his bottle.He let himself down with the brutal culling of Anelka and Alex, If you look at the dire Wigan game, Thats the sort of game where Anelka would have got us a goal. Alex was miles better as a centre half than Luiz and would have solidified the defence.The binning of Cole for Boswinga in Naples was just strange and the constant appearances of Meireles was baffling.Lampard has got the hump because, all of a sudden, he was being treated like a cunt, This is a guy who I still think has loads to offer as player, always kept himself super fit. Individual mistakes by players and referees: The Alex fuck up against WBA; The Kalou handball against Valencia; The Malouda backpass against Arsenal, the Walcott goal; all of the Torres misses; the 2 offside manu goals; Foy for QPR, Webb for manu; Sturridge missing easy goals, Lampard missing easy goals; Terry's racial case; Bosingwa; Cech conceding easy goals, Cech passing to Mikel under pressure and conceding a goal as a result; Torres getting a stupid red against Swansea; Drogba getting a stupid red against QPR; occasional brainfarts by Luiz and Cole; everybody misplacing easy passes... ETC.Just think about the amount of errors made by individuals this season. Sure, it can be argued that AVB could be held accountible for them, but can he really?
