I have not seen Santos play at Strasbourg and have only watched all touch videos (except that they weren't really ALL touches) of his youth tournament season before last. In those I saw absolutely nothing which suggests that allowing him to leave will even come up to CHO levels, never mind KDB.

When we have players like Disasi, Mudryk and Caicedo starting regularly, we have much bigger problems than Jackson.
For me, Jackson, as Cole says, just needs to get a little more confidence and sort his feet out. For me people are getting too caught up with the finishing. Nico has improved quite a lot with his hold up play and off the ball runs. The chances he got against City last week were a lot down to his own hold-up play/off the ball running. He wasn't doing that at the start of the season - particularly the hold-up play.
I am not saying he will be great or even good enough long term, however at least we have have actually seen improvements in his game this season and he hasn't even been as bad as some of the other players I have mentioned above.
Lastly, he has only had two pro seasons playing in the most difficult position on the pitch. If anyone of the 'project' players we've got deserves some slack, it is him.

We have been arguably the better side in both league games (especially chances wise) and City have been pretty bad in all big games this season. Furthermore they will be knackered from yesterday. We can win this.

    He's never been that good.
Classic case of what people did with Emerson and Baba Rahman where the desperation for his competition to be dropped has led people to see things that aren't even there.
You can bang on about Sanchez's bozo moments until the cows come home but Petro going too far the other way and booting it upfield even when simple passes are on (which in turn means the pressure is coming back at us) is everybit as destructive, if not more so.

To be fair it might be system-related. Even Rudiger and Thiago Silva struggled heavily under Lampard, before conceding only two goals in the CL knockout stage under Tuchel.

He always made that impression on me. he gives his all and is genuinely proud and happy to play for this club. From his introduction video to the first goal and again yesterday. He is clearly not the most mobile and tactically astute defender but we also need his physical presence.
From time to time he has performances where he absolutely dominates the opposition striker, which might infer that there is more to come. I suggest he deserves at least till the end of the season to fully acclimatise to the league.

The same has been said about Lukaku by many on this forum in 2021. I am quite content with Jackson as of now, especially with his general play which is far superior to Osimhens.  I think we should give him time until summer, given we also have Nkunku.

We had a period in the first half of about 25-30 minutes where we played absolutely exceptional football. It was what we were missing last season and really was refreshing to see.
Unfortunately, second half we fell back in to what we have come to expect from this Chelsea team, however, I think had we scored that penalty it would've been a different game.
I'm not going to dwell on the result and will hold on to that positivity that we saw in the first half, hopefully Poch can unlock that for longer periods of the game and we can kill teams off. I still think he's the right man to lead us forward and have full confidence in him.

£110M that is a LOT of money... even more than Enzo.. who we bought not even a year ago, people seem to forget that.. Yes it was a bit frustrating that we were chasing him for months only to lose out, but who would have guessed that somebody would pay more than £90M for him. The board was just trying to get their money's worth and I can see why they choose to hold off on the £100M bid, tbh for me I would have not even got past the £85M mark as I thought that that was a fair and realistic price for him. Fair play to Brighton they got their price. We move on.

I don’t see why people want to change him from RB to CM.
He is one of the best and most complete fullbacks in the game when he is fully fit, yet people think we should play him as a CM?
Mind blowing. Be like Man City playing Haaland as a CB.
Also above someone mentioned fitness and injuries and trying him in midfield, saying he could be like Essien. I am sorry but central midfield is probably the toughest position to play physicality. You have to cover so much ground. You have to be ultra fit, I wouldn’t dare risk putting a RB who’s broken down so many times in the past 2 years in arguably the most physically challenging position on the pitch.

thank you for everything Kante, absolute class player/person on and off the pitch, a powerhorse when healthy, he was like a energizer bunny cleaning up everything in midfield, just a shame injuries have hindered his career, he was so vital in us winning our 2nd CL, he deserves everything good in his life. I wish him all the best in the future, go and get that big payday wee little man. KTBFFH always 💙

When I was about 13 I played for a rugby team who was so bad they didn’t score a single point all season and rugby games are normally like 30 -12 or whatever.
our manager offered £10 to anyone who could score on the last game. No one did

I don't even think he's declined, he's the exact same player he's always been.
Only reason it's being so emphasised now is with us and back at Inter he's being asked to play in possesion based systems, which only make his already clear and obvious shortcomings stand out even more.

Before we can claim this, the players we have attracted have to prove that they are of a level required to power regular challenges for titles domestically and internationally.
I don't know how many professional footballers there are around the world but let's guess at 100,000. It would be hard for anyone to question that Chelsea could 'attract' 99% of those players, but we all know that this isn't the right question. We know that the right question is can we recruit enough of the right players among the other 1%. The answer to that question is definitely not in yet.
