Well they did vote against the 5 subs and now are taking it back and want to have those 5 subs rule, its a whole mess.

It was mostly the smaller clubs who voted against it. The rule needed 14 out of the 20 clubs to vote for it.

Reports its pretty serious too. Gomez injury.

It's Liverpool. So I particularly don't give a flying fuck. However, its madness isn't it. The fact we have internationals in this congested season, AND having only 3 subs whilst the rest of the world has 5.

Completely unjust.

Typical British suicide mission to give yourself a harder time than everyone else. Not sure if the sub rule has anything to do with Gomez injury tho. CBs very rarely get subbed out, esp not in a match on the edge like their last few league games were

Anyway. with gomez out, pool have lost their 2 best cbs for possibly the full season. We should really take advantage of that. if we get our shit together like we did for the past few games we can go far in the league.

Van Dijk, TAA and now Gomez...

I said their luck was up, and the only reason they won the big trophies was insanely good luck with injuries for 2 years

nice to be proven correct

zero chance they win the CL

and they may be in deep shit with the EPL

They still have the firepower upfront, TBF.
If they win the title after so many injuries then the PL is a joke to be honest.

Guardiola and Lampard have to be looking at this and seriously believe they can go for the title. Considering Liverpool will eventually use their average youth players.

Assuming they go on to win it, let's see how they get there before calling the league a joke.

Not sure if this season's league will be won by the team that plays the best football. It might well come down to who is the fittest of them all, who will survive this stupid congested fixture by hook or by crook.

Agreed. If however Liverpool don't have their main players for the majority of the season and they still win the league while other title challengers have most of their players fit then the league is a joke in my humble opinion.

Well, City have injuries and look inconsistent. United are shit and inconsistent. Arsenal are shit and inconsistent. Spurs look okay but can they keep Son and Kane fit for the whole season? We look to be okay now but still unsure over the course of the season. Don't think the others can keep up for the whole season.

There are still lots of unknowns and unpredictability based on what we've seen so far. If it's not us for the title, then it better not be fucking Spurs!

That's why I said "assuming the rest of the leagues primary players stay fit while Liverpool have an injury crisis". City's poor form is no excuse for them to not win the league tbf. With the defenders they've brought in, and the so-called best manager that they have at their disposal, they should breeze past everyone this season if their players stay fit. But they probably won't because they're looking awful so I agree on that.

There is no reason for us to not challenge for the title, and I'm not being biased here. We got world class players, a very good defence, amazing attacking talent and momentum on our side. The only thing that could stop us is if Lampard truly fucks up, which I hope he won't. The most embarrassing thing would be Spurs finishing above us when they've finished 6th last season.

I think it will say more for just how mentally strong that squad are as much as it hurts to admit it.

We had major injury problems in 06/07 and 07/08 but our sheer warrior like mentality and spirit meant we somehow kept up with and challenged Fergie's very best United sides. I see a similar spirit in these lot, unless Alisson gets injured (Adrian is tragically bad) i think they will still find a way to challenge at a minimum unfortunately.

Exactly but the reason why we didn't win it was because Man UTD took their opportunity when we were down. Even if Liverpool is mentally strong, that alone shouldn't be enough for them to win the title back to back.

They were bound to get fucked, only a matter of time. I agree we must go for the kill, they still have plenty quality but its most def doable. Klopp better not come up with excuses later on, God knows we have suffered at that front, I might be wrong but I think we had like 3-4 times where we had the full squad at the ready under FL....so they can go stuff it with the excuses.
