Tend to respond better under pressure then do if given a opportunities to extend the gap...better do anyway

Very true! If we end up doing the opposite then we might as well hand it over! We're not in Europe anymore, so time to make the most of this extra time and focus on winning the league!

Giroud is such an underrated player. Welbeck's arrival was supposed to mean the end of Giroud but surprise, surprise, that has not been the case. Giroud is not world-class, but he's comfortably in that bracket of strikers under the elite. Welbeck is midtable level. He makes a very decent back-up for every top side in the league because of his pace and work rate.

Newcastle have to tie this up and crush any silly title fantasy.

Totally agreed, I got slated when I said he's one of the top strikers in the league. They're aren't many better at what he does.

Aguero,Kane and Giroud are the top 3 strikers in the league this season. They have been as deadly as Costa (if not more) but with the added benefit of being light years better than him in terms of technical ability and all round play. If Sanchez is considered a striker (which he isn't imo) he's obviously above him as well.

Don't think you'll find anyone who'd have Giroud over Costa. Not even most Arse fans.

Kane we'll have to see if he's more than just a 1 season wonder like so many strikers before him.

A striker like Costa wouldnt fit in at Arsenal with their a million pass trying to walk in goalsl.

Their whole system relies on a striker who is able to be technical. Costa works better with what we have in Fabregas because he is able to get on the end of passes while exploiting space. I think Hazard would benefit from playing with a technical striker though.

Prime drogba and hazard would of been a thing of beauty...

Giroud is the best hold up player in the epl, but Costa does have better goal scoring ability and tenacity/work rate/speed.

Agüero sure, Kane maybe, esp considering he is outscoirng world-class strikers either having the best season in their career (agüero) or playing with way better midfielders behind them (Costa) with ease and at only 21 years. People cry one-season wonder but does anyone really think a striker of that technical and goalscoring ability will only have one good season? maybe he will not score that much ever again but this guy will continue to make headlines. Michael owen sends his regards.

Giroud has killer holdöup play but a man his size should have. Not even Gunners would have him over Costa though.Giroud is a good striker but not a good finisher. But the worst thing about is he lets you down. He should have scored about every big game gunners lose and embodies there loser's mentality. Makes you hope with good performances in unimportant games but does fuck all in those that really matter. Arsenal will win their 3rd/4th place trophy with or without his goals, assists or hold up play.

FROM NEWSTHUMP.

Prince Harry to take over as Sunderland manager
prince-harry-sunderland-afc-small.jpg

Speculation is rife that Prince Harry is leaving the Army in order to take over at Sunderland AFC.

“It seems the obvious narrative,” says journalist and fan Simon Williams.

“Gus Poyet has been sacked, Dick Advocaat is appointed an interim manager, and Prince Harry leaves the army in June.”

“The only way you can read this is that Prince Harry will be installed in time for the transfer window.”

The young Prince, famous for being photographed with his plums out in a Las Vegas hotel, will face a tough time at Sunderland with many people believing he’ll start his tenure in the Championship.

“Oh yes,” said Williams, “Sunderland are a total sack of wank.”

The Royals have, for a long time, wanted to get into football management.

Prince Andrew was expected to take over at Wimbledon FC in the early nineties but unfortunately was far too busy shagging to do so.

Prince Harry has been linked with numerous jobs since announcing his intention to break from the Army; presenter of Top Gear, UKIP councillor, and manager of the Brentwood station branch of WH Smith.

“Look, I can’t say anything,” said Sunderland board member Ellis Short.

“Would we like to have Prince Harry at the club? Course we would. He’s a big name and he’s got lovely hair. But we’ll have to wait and see.”

The expected move for Prince Harry has fuelled speculation that the Royal Family will offer Gus Poyet a job as a minor royal
