Pizy 19,252
Player swap is absolutely out of the question. Cash only or no deal. I'd go to £40m and no more for him if I were the board. Maybe a smudge higher if Jose desperately pushes.
Phil Driver 503
Regarding signing someone else if we do not get Rooney ,Jose was adamant that it was Rooney or nobody and when he makes bold statements like that to the press he usually means it ,I think that if we do not get Rooney it will be nobody and I dont think we will get Rooney. chopchop 68
It's unfortunate that we have to play United so early in the season. It's probably the only reason this transfer isn't progressing faster. Once that game passes I have a feeling United start listening to some offers. Tricky 301
What are we anticipating being the fee for him? Also, if there is a player added to the cash sum, who will it be? Are there untouchables like Juan Mata and/or Eden Hazard?Wow, so your clearly not a Chelsea fan.... Cash plush Hazard or Mata? lol

Heisenberg 1,824
Choice isnt an option for Rooney, if he wants to go and United cant replace him with a decent player he wont go.I have full trust that Moyes can cope with an angry player for a season and even more if it is a winner like Rooney. If Manchester United block the transaction he'll have to face the anger of some fans but goals will fix that disorder.I hope we'll be quick in the last days and our negotiators can be intelligent enough to not convince big Roman to splash the cash on an off form player for now.Use the last bad season of the striker to lower his price.Lukaku, Demba Ba and Blondinette will do well for one year if Chelsea fails to sign Shrek. JDY 1,290
United have already replaced Rooney if he were to leave in the shape of Kagawa, who would probably get a chance in his favoured position. They need a winger & a central midfielder more than anything.

ZanSnake 1,211
got to say it is looking more unlikely for us to sign him as we get closer to the opening say of the season :\
nofacej 132
It's hard to say really. I think this was always going to be one of those sagas that gets resolved on deadline day. United will want to hear as many offers as they can before making a decision, and in the meantime it gives them more time to try and convince Rooney to stay. I mean yesterday was a massive sign that Rooney is fit and ready to play but the club seem to want to keep lying. Rooney and United are at logger heads. I dont mean the whole situation, its obvious something is going on at Utd but the severity of the situation could be blown out of all perportion. Anyhow Im not even slightly optimistic of this going through now. Moyes is already under the Microscope but he will look a prize tool if after all he's said he lets him go.
