Mata can play there and he doesn't need to play as striker, why? Because he's so fucking good at being a midfielder! For me, that's impressive enough. And he's ten times better than Rooney at it; as will Oscar/KDB become a better than Rooney there but that's as long as some fat, injury-prone, aging, jack of all trades, master of none, tit isn't taking up their game time simply because he's 'versatile'. The main reason why people want him here is because we have run out of options for a world class striker.Although I feel it would be better if we stick with the striking options we have at the moment.Torres,Lukaku and Ba is a decent strike force and may not be that risky as some people think.

Spending 25m+ and paying 250k a week for a player who was never our Plan A just doesn't make sense.

Seems to me Utd want rid of Rooney, why else would Moyes have made such inflammatory comments? Probably challenging him to hand in a transfer request so he forgoes some monster loyalty fee / clause in his contract.
