Jusek 2,031
Costa, Cavani, Drogba would be orgasmic...but there's fucking Torres, we can't get rid of him. mediator and sherry33
mediator 2,026
If we can find a way to play both of them upfront against the bottom teams(4-4-2 may be) this could be lethal, something like this----------------- GK -----------------------Azpi ----- Cahill---- - Terry ---- LuizWillian - Fabregas - Matic - Hazard--------- Costa - Cavani --------------Substitutes:Oscar for FabregasSalah for WillianAndré for HazardMVG for MaticDidier for one of them I like the shape of that one sherry33, sdrcfc and I_Just_Blue_Myself
The Chels 2,502
It's on BBC as well. It's on their gossip column where they round up transfer stories (mostly bullshit) from different newspapers. It's not BBC's story.
MrBlueGuy 1,552
Let this be real. Our team would be unstoppable! It already is, doubt any team can beat us convincingly atm, we are capable of going toe to toe witht Real, Barca and Bayern now. IF we lose it will be really close margin and not battered 4-0 like Barca and Bayern for the last 2 seasons against better teams.

Our defence is the best in Europe IMO, but adding Cavani to our strike force would be lethal! sherry33

Whiskey 173
Seems unlikely, but if we got Cavani it would probably be the best transfer window in the history of the sport. I dont understand why some people say "we cant have both Costa and Cavani, they both need to play" and yadayadayada.I think some people are affected by our striker situation lately that they simply dont realize that it isnt impossible (rather the opposite) for a top club to have two top quality strikers. sdrcfc, I_Just_Blue_Myself and sherry33
DANILA 290
man City has had 3 or 4 good strikers in the last ~3 years. Why shouldn't we be able to have costa and cavani? CFC is being more linked to the transfer as we speak 11Drogba and sherry33
Special Juan 28,140
Won't be able to contain my joy if this actually happens, the noises have came from ESPN by the looks of things and seem to be gathering pace, but it could all be outlets wanting that top headline.Hard not to be excited by it because in one brain thought you are back to reality Despiadado.Maleante, ChelseaFSee and sherry33

Daniel1980 1,425
The money isn't the problem -- we can easily afford him if we want -- our HG situation is. We'll need to cast out 3 non-HG players if we get Cavani. Madmax
Mechromancer 262
He's better in the wing. But, again, isn't a good partner for Diego. And he doesn't like play there. If we want a 9, Falcao is better option. He was the best in the world before his injury.
termninja 5,290
I'm 50-50 for this transfer. Cavani is a brilliant player whom we actually can sign without too much trouble. Do we need him? Short term thinking says no, but long term says yes because Drogba is here for 1 season while all that's keeping Torres at the club are his high wages which basically leaves us with only Costa. Signing Cavani would give us lots of firepower up front which we actually do need. He can definitely do better then Drogba and Torres. I'm fully against 2 strikers starting on our regular formation. We have way too much offensive players and midfielders to sacrifice one position so we could field another striker. If it happens, I'm happy, if it doesn't, I'm still happy. Y123CFC 69
Anyone who used to watch Jose's Madrid team a lot, can you remember how he dealt with having two good strikers then (Benzema & Higuain)?Did he rotate them regularly or ever play them both or..? Mechromancer 262
Sometimes, both played. In the beginning, 2010, Higuaín was the first option, but after the injury in his back and the Adebayor arrival, Benzema played more. 2011-12 is the Karim season; GOAT level, really. Gonzalo played well too, but not at that level. More bench player until Di María injury in the beginning of the 2012. In the 2012-13, the same situation, if i remember well. But both played worse. Especially the french. Last year of his contract. Hasn't renewed yet... Without trade rumors... Very strange. The Skipper

petre.ispirescu 4,928
It doesn't make sense - Chelsea has to let a foreign player go, not to bring one. Should Cavani arrive here, Jose will have to sell two foreign players. And frankly I can't see him shipping both Cech and Mikel in the same window and remain with Ramires, Romeu and van Ginkel as the only back up players for the CM role. Mikel might not be the best half back out there, but you know Jose will pick him over Romeu and van Ginkel at any hour of the day. Especially in the big games - and there will be plenty of those in the next season. RoyalBlues
