Essien was considered best defensive mid in the world for some time.

Lampard was kind a "voted" the best midfielder in 2005 when finished 2nd in ballon d'or, and was at least in the top 3 in a couple of more seasons imo.

Terry and Carvalho, i think there were times that you couldnt say there is a CB who is definitely better than them.

Cech was considered as one of best gk around, Ballack was fantastic too, so was Deco and ferreira and...in 2009/10, our squad and style was world class, personaly I wouldnt trade that season and players with either RM, Barca or anyone else. We won against others in big four, making wins 6:0 with ease and had attractive style.

Despite the high scoring games that season, we were much more dominant in 04/05 and 05/06. IDK. Those two seasons were special. 09/10 was great too but not the same for me for some reason, despite some amazing stuff like Malouda's form, Drogba's goals...

Anyway back on topic, doubt this will happen.

True, 09/10 was a good season but lets not forget, Man United just lost Ronaldo and Tevez, Arsenal had RVP out for most of the season and Liverpool were just shithouse. We still had the same Christmas slump and just pipped Man United to the title with an offside goal and struggled to beat relegation side Pompey in the FA cup. We were knocked out of the Champions league by probably the worst eventual winners in the history of the competition..

04/05 / 05/06 we were unstoppable... We should have won the Champions league in both those years to be honest..

Yep!! Teams were beaten even before they stepped onto the pitch during 04-06. Sad that some have forgotten about that unbelievable unbeaten home record we had going. It wasn't just fluke too. Sure, there were a few games where we got last-second equalisers but for the most part we were totally dominant.

Tbh I think I even regard 2007 as a more 'enjoyable' season. In terms of the way we fought despite injuries to Cech, JT, Carvalho and god knows who else... Essien playing all across the back 4 and being a BEAST.. Drogba's stunning goals... That game at the emirates where we lost the title but fought to the end despite being a man down and essien's (who else) equaliser and Jose's chin-up at the end.
