TheHulk 2,482
Sack this coach pretender before he ruins next season as well. I'm 100% sure he isn't turning this. Johnnyeye
Laylabelle 9,536
Its nice we spent a lot of money but it just looks like it was thrown out willy nilly..players signed and hasn't changed much. Henrique 9,133
Potter won't get sacked because the owner doesn't want to look like a clown, even though that's exactly what he is. Weeks ago Arteta "success" with Arsenal was supposed to the model the club was following, and now is pretty clear Arteta won't win anything with Arsenal this season (again). The club is a mess right now.

He has been given time and clearly built something great and continuing to do so. Shock horror that Arsenal might not win the league... I don't think anyone had them close the start of the season. Not to mention going up against the cheating City team - you step back and realise what they are doing regardless of if they get 1st or 2nd is fantastic. A complete turnaround. Exactly this. This cocky claim is based on what? Pissed Fans on the stadium chanting for Tuchel? I wouldn't say the revenue from fans in other side of the world is worse then some local fella with 50 quid ticket, but that off topic anyway. But yeah, let's enjoy another "professional" press piece where all facts against him are turned into joke, as we love the guy since he was born in the same country as ours. "His" Brighton masterpiece performs better without him? Let's omit it or turn into joke as well. Fun thing is that people went into general consensus that Lampard needs to be sacked and is incompetent, while he had worse players, better results and an actual track record to back himself, but maybe fans mentality was bit different then. I still can't comprehend people using Arsenal as legit argument though. We are not Arsenal and Potter is not Artreta, so thinking we will do the same thing is just wishful thinking (or huge stretch in logic). United had Ole at the wheel and gave him time, good luck with that. And even if we did the Artreta thing, whatever it is… should we be happy with it? We were top team and Cl winners when TB took over, so why should we be all ecstatic when we will be competing for top4 again after wasting 4 years? We are way better and richer than Arsenal and have way different issues, so how they are our role model now? I feel the major thing Boehly and Potter succeeded in so far is convincing our fans we are Brighton level and should have the appropriate mindset for it. I feel the major thing Boehly and Potter succeeded in so far is convincing our fans we are Brighton level and should have the appropriate mindset for it. The club has completely shifted its mindset and strategy, and people want it all to happen overnight. The same people whinging now are the ones that whinged the most when we didn't play nice football but still won, didn't promote young players, didn't build a solid core, didn't promote a certain brand of football and build on it. Now that we are trying to build that model, it is all, "what are we doing", "why aren't we winning", "new coach sucks"... I'm not infallible to all this either as I have a sook every now and then at a bad result and call for him out, but Potter has legitimately had no consistency with this team with injuries, etc, and now has a whole new team. Has he made a bunch of mistakes too? Yes. He is clearly a very capable coach - given how he setup his previous sides for success with what he had at his disposal. Our players went from playing an atrocious brand of football and losing. To his credit, we are looking better, and still losing. One problem at a time I guess. different level 1,056
Where is our old board to "overreact" right now? Imagine for years the club has refused to give a bit of time to so many great coaches, but now the biggest clown receives all the support. Blue Armour 4,448
He deserves credit for how the team played in the early part of the second half. The fullbacks Chillwell and James pushing forward and interchanging positions with the wingers to create opportunities, is easily the best football his team has played in 2023. Let's see if he can do it again in the weekend. He however needs to drop Havertz as a no. 9. It's probably not all Kai's fault, but he is little more than a lamppost at this point.
