This deal does not make a lot of cash for Inter. They still owe Man Utd 40M for Lukaku and a 25% sell on fee.

Would assume any sell-on clause (if one even exists, let alone at 25%) only covers the profit Inter make on the transfer. Inter paid around €75M for Lukaku so at €110-120M the sell-on fee wouldn't be all that much, around €10M at most and probably even less if the percentage is lower than 25%. Do you have a source saying the clause is there?

It would have been crazy for Inter to accept a 25% sell-on clause for the full sale price, because it would mean they have to sell for €100M just to break even and if Lukaku had failed at Inter he'd have been impossible to sell because Man Utd would have taken 25% off the price which would already have been below what they paid for the big man themselves.

Inter would be absolutely mad not to sell Lukaku for 120m. their biggest ever signing, right on his peak and they get the chance to even make a profit from him? Only one winner if this trainwreck of a deal goes through.

Kounde and Lukaku would be 2017 window reloaded.

I would be surprised of it was 25%

40m for the transfer (staggered over multiple years I guess)?

Yes, also when Covid stopped game day ticket sales, Inter have not been making their payments to Man Utd. Their club really is in financial chaos.

Yeah, obviously Zaha's case is completely different. United paid £10M for him, only to sell two years later for £3M with the high percentage clauses included. They covered their own £7M losses with the sell-on clause in case Zaha made it big, and Palace were happy accept because they got a talented youngster for practically free.

For Lukaku Inter paid a club record fee for a proven player nearing his peak years so of course they were never going to accept 25% sell-on fee to give United even more money than they already paid, which was already a huge investment for them. It's not like clubs were lining up to buy Lukaku at €75M two years ago so I'd be really surprised if Woodward, a club executive notoriously bad with transfers both incoming and outgoing, pulled off a blinder to get Inter to accept a huge sell-on clause.

that's what they get for selling to Chinese gangsters who don't give a fuck at the end of the day

that club was only 2 or 3 pieces away from being a top 3 on planet level for this coming season

once Conte was to to fuck off when he asked for Rodrigo de Paul (who ended up going to AM for only £31.5m) and was told that Hakimi would be sold, he saw the writing on the wall

Honestly I don’t believe the Lukaku reports, from my understanding of this club behavior this is not consistent with past behaviors.

Matt Law, Fabrizio, Simon Johnson of Athletic. It's all the top tier sources reporting

Pastorello says yes to #Chelsea. The # Inter: "We are waiting for #Romelu to say it, otherwise for us it is no". Very hot situation https://twitter.com/AlfredoPedulla/status/1422537408294408195?s=20
fingers crossed.

Ahh this is mental.

At least we have a goalscorer I guess.

Because let's face it, the man can score goals

Yeah, against the low to mid rank sides. He always disappears in big games as his weaknesses are so obvious.

Honestly see TT having an aneurysm watching him playing upfront.

Well maybe he will flourish in our system with the quality he will have around him.

Lukaku uptop with Werner playing off him.

Not sure how this is going to work for Havertz.
