I suspect that Lukaku didn't pull out on this, rather he realised he wasn't getting back to Inter as we weren't going to just take any offer. Hasn't it already been reported we'd have taken the €35+5M which was Inter's last offer? I feel it all comes down to money: Inter would have paid Lukaku just €7.5M/y net and Juve's offer is much more. Compared to alot of other players he actually put his heart on the field and gave everything in all situations. He was a fighter and a leader. Had we had a single player in the team last season with Costa's mentality, we would not have finished in the bottom half of the table.. He only left because Conte was a cnut and we have yet to find a new world class player for the striker position. Costa was alot of things but not a mercenary.
