Brokealona finding out that IOU's don't work in the real world. Who would've thought?

Think it also proves that anything Romero publishes is horseshit.

He was the one that said Raphinha would rather stay at Leeds.

How I want to wipe that smug look off their presidents face.

Was watching him yesterday talking about FDJ and with an arrogant smile he was boasting about getting Kessie.

I have a feeling Barca realistically know they are never getting Raphinah or others for 60m + but are doing their upmost in the press to give an illusion to their fans that they are trying to get quality in.. also to save their 'big club' image. I could be wrong.

I do actually agree. I have said elsewhere that WB is a major concern, however I think it is also optimistic to find people of adequate quality who are going to be happy to play as a back-up.

RWB does have a bit if scope however, as I would personally move James to RCB as I think he would be better there than RWB. However, I am still pretty high on Livra and hope he comes back from his ACL ok. If he does, I am more than happy to wait for him rather than take a risk on someone with only Champo experience. Additionally, some of the AM's can cover RWB in the mean time. This is obviously not perfect but I rather we get the right players when we can, rather than jump the gun.

LWB is more of an issue, I am not sure Cornet for instance will come as he'll have a lot of takers in the league from Tier 2 -3 and he would still be able to play further forward. This position however does need to be addressed in the market, it is more that I don't see a viable option.

Tbh, my post was more about signing 4 players (GK2 is not really a major purchase) as six seems a little unlikely atm and by integrating the youth boys' it plays into the Dodgers strategy.

That said, I think Gallagher gets quite a lot of minutes in a 343. I personally think he'll take a fair share of Kante's load.

This is where someone like Clauss might be worth a punt, especially for the price being mentioned.

Seems to be a bit of a late bloomer but his form in France has been very good across the last season or two.

Apparently he's a Chelsea fan based on an old video about his dream move, and coming from a smaller club he'd probably be content with a squad role.

He's nearly 30 so isn't going to be a long term option but like you mentioned regarding Livramento, he could potentially give us a couple of seasons grace period to see how Livramento recovers from his injury.

In the example of Cornet, that would probably depend on his motivations - a squad role in a team competing for trophies (and given the amount of games likely to still play a good number), or much more regular game time for a lesser side.

Barcelona’s idea is to reach an agreement in principle for Azpilicueta before Saturday. They’re waiting for Chelsea’s decision regarding the player’s future.

Dave won't be going anywhere until we have a minimum of two of the following:

2 CB's

1 RWB

Honestly, Colwill is a talent but people are overhyping him beyond belief. Colwill has never played a minute in the PL. He did very well but he did not player every game for them. Kimpembe has been playing in Europe and for a top team for several years. Ake has been a prem player for solid years. There is no comparison. Now if we play Colwill and he looks out his depth, then what? Colwill can still get opportunites regardless.

Agree 100%. If anything, getting a player like Aké or Kimpembe should be a good thing as far as Colwill is concerned. Neither of those two are too good or too high profile to be slowly phased out if Colwill turns out to be the huge success we all hope he will be, but at least in the short term I'd sleep a lot easier knowing there's another solid option for the LCB role too.

Having a more experienced 'first choice' for now would mean Colwill can be bedded in more patiently and not having to throw him straight in at the deep end, meaning there's less pressure on the youngster while still making sure he gets enough opportunities to develop. For example James didn't start even half the games in his first season back at the club (granted he did start out injured for the first month or so) and I'm hoping Colwill would have a similar role this coming season. If he does well enough with his opportunities, his role can then be increased for the next season and eventually make him first choice once he's clearly better than the guy he's competing with.

I've seen the name of Gvardiol thrown around a lot here this summer and he seems to be the flavor of the month for many. How'd you think Colwill would feel if the club signed another youngster for his position for big money? It'd be an obvious vote of no confidence from the club / manager for him because he too would need plenty of game time to keep improving and he'd be a much bigger threat for Colwill's development.

Let's face it, Aké/Kimpembe + Colwill sounds a hell of a lot better than Colwill + Sarr and that's all there is to it. As long as the finances don't get totally ridiculous, I'm totally on board bringing in one of those two.
