Never bought that narrative. We can’t be buying shit players to give youngsters who maybe one day might be good enough a clear pathway

On an actual maybe like Maatsen or even Broja i'd agree but Colwill is Reece 2019 levels of next to certainty.

I see it as the opposite. Gvardiol is Silva’s replacement if we signed him but good enough to start at LCB until then.

Ake and Colwill i only see as being LCB if they were to become regular starters.

most of his games he played at centre CB (7 games very early on at left wing back as well, not left CB, but was strictly a CB after the first part of the season)

30 games, 27 starts at centre CB , 1 at RIGHT CB (all listed below) and 2 where he came in as a sub at centre CB

probably would have been 34, as they play 4 less league games than the other big 5

we also have no idea how Colwill will adapt

I was basing my post on the rumours assumption TT wants to revert to back 4 as @MoroccanBlue touched up on.

Apologies should have made that clearer.

I'm curious why do You rate Tomori so high?

He had a good peroid, but I remember him rather error-prone, lost and slow decision making (lack of experience perhaps) and not very good on the ball. Didn't he improve in Milan, where he can be more conventional CB and it's less demanding in tactical discipline, but it doesn't really translate to his usefulness here?

Geniuenly curious, as I liked the guy, yet he's a move that I don't really regret.

I'd like a CB to inspire confidence like Koulibaly does and him + AC would rather inspire my heart skipping a heartbeat (and perhaps Kepa's too) every time they were near the ball. I also remember Baka doing well in Milan. And Piątek. So maybe Milan is not valid measure of quality. Hell, Lukaku was doing well in Inter, so maybe this city is not valid as a whole, lol

you cant teach that sort of speed

and he is vastly better on the ball now

he just need regular playing time

Lampard made all our CB's look like shit

I think he will end up being a stellar CB in Serie A

he already was a huge reason in Milan winning the Scudetto and made some first team all league sides

a bit gutted we never got to see him under Tuchel for a full season, but NOTHING like when we sold de Bruyne with no buyback🤬

I will take that to my grave

but oh well, best of luck to Tomori, not bitter at all, I wish him well

So is Neymar 100% staying in Paris now? If we’re missing out on Dembele and Raphinha as is looking cortina now, I’d rather we try for him before making a play at CR7.

Wow, that is good to hear and quite a statement to make. I have not seen enought of him to express this level of confidence but if you say so I will take your word for it. 19y.o. RJ was one of the best players ever to play in the championship and I called him becoming world class before he ever kicked a ball for our senior team. I really hope you are right.

Raphinha savors the taste of victory because he knows that he'll be a Barcelona player in a matter of hours. [sport] #fcblive

Raphinha is off to Barcelona. [@MikeKeegan_DM] #fcblive

Bar?a and Leeds have closed a deal since last week for Raphinha that will be paid in 3 installments for €50M fixed and €10M in bonuses. Bar?a hopes to activate the 2nd lever to make the deal official. Raphinha only wants Bar?a and is waiting. [@gerardromero]

If we miss out on both I'd give Callum (3rd highest for open play key passes and big chances created ITL last season) a strong run on that side.

I think he would suit a front three involving Kai and Sterling well and him and Reece have unbelievable chemistry.

Maybe its the hope that kills you but I actually have this gut feeling that CHO might make a step up next season. What that step up might be, I'm not yet quite sure but I think if he stays fit I see him becoming more entrusted by Tuchel and jump above Pulisic and Werner in the pecking order.

The achilles injury he suffered definitely had a lasting impact on him. His confidence, his explosiveness to take players on. It sounds promising that he's come back to pre season fit and in a shape that it seems he hasn't been before.

I think despite the two possibly in competition for some game time I also feel he'll benefit from Sterling coming in. Everything that I've read about Sterling suggests he's a huge influence as an experienced player within the England set up, and I think that should rub well with the young England boys we have in our squad.

Dear lord, I guess some people had already forgotten what kind of havoc Willian's and Luiz's way of being caused to this club, while Dembele is twice more intense on this, unless he had somehow gotten himself together last year, which I doubt.

Now with Azpi, Alonso and Rudiger leaving the squad is in transition to give leadership to younger players and we lack more experienced leaders, bar maybe Silva (whose rather freshman in Chels, although heart & soul blue), so club should be super careful about what kind of character they employ. And then Lukaku causing another dumpster fire and then Dembele and Neymar rumors, c'mon

For me he's much better than Pulisic in everything but finishing but that one's for another day.

I feel he gets an overally harsh press in our fanbase. I got it to a point under Lampard but whenever he's had a solid 5-10 game run of starts under Tuchel he's performed (barring his finishing which will likely never be top notch but hopefully Sterling and Havertz will offset that going forward).

Our best form of last season he was starting regularly and was our best in the front three, and then was unfairly sidelined again after one so so game vs United only to then come up with crucial contributions against Villa, Spurs and the CWC final before the injury that took him out for the season.
