Chelsea Transfers

€40M+5M, are Barcelona fucking joking? What should be Sevilla's motive for accepting €20M less than they already had on the table from Chelsea?

Barca's antics should really be looked into. They have all these unofficial negotiations with just about every other player out there and make all kinds of promises to turn the player's head into wanting a move there. When the player's already become unsettled they then proceed to start low-balling the selling club with their joke offers. It happened with Raphinha, it's happening with Azpilicueta & Alonso and now it's happening again with Kounde.

If you're gonna hijack a transfer, at least have the common decency of matching or improving the bid of the other club and conclude the deal quickly. Despicable club.

I have never ever in my life known anything like it.

It's whether which one is best for our system.

The RCB and LCB need to be ball carrying defenders. Is that Skriniar?

Chelsea are weighing up several defensive targets this summer, so which one is best statistically? Matthijs de Ligt leads the way in the air and Kalidou Koulibaly makes most interventions... but Milan Skriniar is great with the ball at his feet

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10986791/Chelsea-Matthijs-Ligt-Kalidou-Koulibaly-defensive-targets-compare-statistically.html

snip

Jules Kounde (Sevilla)

A long-term target for the club, Kounde is hugely admired at Chelsea after emerging as one of the standout defenders in European football over the past few seasons.

The France defender has made 95 league appearances since heading to Sevilla in 2019, 32 of which came in the previous campaign.

Across his 2,738 minutes last term, Kounde stacks up to De Ligt unfavourably in the heading department, winning just 2.4 aerial duels per game compared to the latter's four.

He has the slight edge when it comes to tackles, producing 1.3 per game in 2021/22, yet his average of 0.7 interceptions and 0.6 blocks was marginally lower. They were both on hand with 3.1 clearances per 90 minutes.

When it comes to passing, Kounde is the more impressive after registering a superior 65.6 passes per game and the same pass completion of 89 per cent.

The 23-year-old also got on the scoresheet twice and provided as many assists, though his discipline is perhaps a concern given he picked up two red cards.

While he was forced to undergo surgery on a pelvis issue last summer, Kounde is yet to miss a large period of matches through injury since bursting onto the scene at Bordeaux in 2018.

snip

Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)

Having proven a crucial member of Napoli's backline for close to a decade, Koulibaly has been linked with top club after top club for many a year and Chelsea are one of several eyeing him up this summer.

He was just as important for the Italian club last term, clocking up 2,406 minutes in his 27 starts as Luciano Spalletti's men secured third place in Serie A.

Despite his imposing figure, the Senegal defender only averaged 1.8 successful aerial duels throughout the previous season, which is the lowest of all four Chelsea targets so far.

However, in almost every other defensive area Koulibaly managed to outperform De Ligt, Kounde and Ake.

On average last season he registered 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 3.1 clearances - equal to De Ligt - and 0.9 blocks per game.

His pass completion of 87 per cent is also solid given he averaged 60.8 passes per game for Napoli, while he was also on hand with three goals and as many assists.

Koulibaly's disciplinary record was not too troubling, with five yellows and a red card fairly standard practice for a defender, but his injury history will concern Tuchel most.

Over the past two and a half years he has missed 31 games due to fitness issues, and given the 31-year-old now has as many years on the clock his condition could worsen.

snip

Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan)

The 27-year-old has been a first-team regular for Inter ever since he rocked up at the San Siro in 2017, making at least 32 league appearances in each of his five seasons with the club.

He was afforded 35 by Simone Inzaghi in the previous season, all coming as starts, meaning he was involved in 3,150 of their 3,420 Serie A minutes overall.

And when taking a look at his stats for 2021/22 it is not hard to see why.

While there is no defensive area where Skriniar trumps the other four players in this list - averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.5 aerial duels, 0.7 blocks and 2.5 clearances per game - his pass completion of 93 per cent is mightily impressive considering the amount of time he spent on the pitch.

He produced 60 successful passes per match in his 35 outings for Inter, meaning Tuchel would be able to count on him in a system centred around playing out from the back.

Skriniar also contributed three goals down the other end, while receiving a mere three yellow cards all season.

If he were to prove as consistent in English football, the Slovakia international, who has not missed a league match through injury for the last six seasons, would undoubtedly be a reliable defensive option for Tuchel.

I'd honestly us save the money than waste it like previously. Quick fixers never work and I doubt he would even be that.

Judging by last season and this pre-season,  We dont have reliable striker yet maybe havertz in the future who knows ? but going in to the season with Broja, werner and havertz, With tottenham improving arsenal looks better with jesus added not to mention city liverpool  . Quick fixers is maybe what we need

We don’t even seem to be linked with any attacking players anymore, never mind being close to actually signing one. We bid £60m or whatever for Raphinha, failed, and then just….said ‘okay’ and moved on to no alternative?

because there are hardly any legit ones left

CF only Osimhen and (if you count him as a CF) Danjuma (who can play winger)

then a handful of wingers

Rafael Leão
Moussa Diaby   left footer
Mikel Oyarzabal  lefty
Jarrod Bowen  lefty

wild card
Domenico Berardi  lefty

I wonder where does the theory that Boehly is some kind of dumb child in the dark and needs to get a general idea of football and transfers in sport before doing anything; Just a reminder that very first thing he did was bringing here Koulibaly, something that Marina couldn't do for her entire stint here and what people deemed absolutely impossible due to De Laurentis + him being a legend and absolutely not wanting a move from Napoli. Yet still I feel people totally ignore this transfer and not see a weight of it. Sterling is no BS as well.

Maybe he has an idea of business different than some fans would like him to have, but I wouldn't downplay him this much as a person in charge.

If they get kounde for a lower fee then we have already offered then there is something going on. Selling to your rival for 20m less is a damn right offense, the fact Barca seem to have to most money in the world atm is crazy! Have they actually sold anybody? Wtf is going on sell what u want rights to stadium TV rights what ever but first things first PAY YOUR FUCKING PLAYERS absolutely disgrace of a club.

They can certainly line-up like that,  But they are both left-footers and play on the right side they both like to cut in.

It's blatantly obvious your not a Chelsea fan, the fact your still trying to pull it off is pathetic. Either man up and admit it then we can talk civil like rivals fans having a proper discussion or just fuck off its that simple. Ppl have kids at home, don't need to come here and listen to one n all.

They buy one after another, but still can't register anyone, not even Lewandowski nor Raphinia; I guess they either working on another selling 3% of their parking lot NFT to Nigerian Prince bs or will continue what they doing and drag in until very beginning of the season and wait for rotten federations to let them get away with this, as screw FFP because it's a great Barca mes que une club bs.

Of course, it also raises the eternal question what is the point of FFP today, as this shithousery will make their finances look healthy on paper, but at the same time it proves the reality is just the opposite and it doesn't take a rating agency to notice it. But obviously FFP is not a concern for Barca, PSG or City as it's way easier to give us a ten year transfer ban for signing some 15 yo who never even put his feet on field here, lol

13 days until  Everton (a) and we are still with Batshuayi , Alonso , Barkley in the team without adequate striker

we even refused Ronaldo, we will rely on Werner and Ziyech

half the defenders in Europe have turned us down like De Ligt , Kounde and Kimpembe  and we are looking for our new Djilobodji

This season will be fun .
