Willy is a decent enough number 2 as he proved yesterday. The issue comes if he has to play long periods but to step in for a game or 2 it's not crazy. If we really need goalkeeper help them just chuck one of the loan army in and give them a go

Arteta is getting super overrated because that one game. This whole narrative has come out of that fa cup final. If Pully doesn't get injured and we win that then they don't win that or the community shield and its just 8th place arsenal rather than this amazing arsenal everyone in the media goes on about.

It started when they played Liverpool at The Emirates when they did a lot worse than we did on Sunday but shithoused a win because Alison and VVD were in generous mood.

Don't get me wrong other than the fact he's arsenal manager I have nothing against the guy and he may be a good manager having been through the pep school. But from what I have seen of arsenal they look a threat with auba, lack any midfield quality and are still somewhat shaky defensively. But thats pretty much the same as before. They've always been a threat in attack but their midfield was never good enough to dictate games and auba had to do a lot himself.

Its lucky that the AFCON is put back. If Willy had got injured then with Keps loaned/sold we would be up the creek.

All about protecting the value. An established international footballer like Rüdiger would still command a good fee in non-COVID circumstances (guessing around 25-30M) so with two years left on his current deal it makes no sense to loan him out without a one-year extension. Otherwise his value will plummet next summer with only one year remaining in his current deal and the loaning club will surely not pay fair value anymore, even though they've already got the player since he still had 2 years left.

Obviously the priority would be a straight sale but if there are no clubs with that kind of money right now, a loan is the only option.Same with Batshuayi a while back and Bakayoko now.

As for Barkley vs RLC, very confused. RLC has something our mid does not have, physicality. But he is not going to get that confidence back until he actually plays. So probably loan him this season and hope he gets his game back.

I think talking about Reuben getting his game back is a very generous assessment. Reuben has quality and physical attributes but he has never, not even in youth football, turned those into consistently effective performances. His reputation, and his career to date, are both built on the promise of what he might be capable of doing, not on what he has done. What he has done amounts to more or less nothing. You seem to be prepared to keep waiting at the station but I don't think the train is coming.

ruben did have that season with sarri where he was actually our best player in the second half of that season... but yeah, because of his injury, I doubt he’ll reach those heights again

far brighter, but maybe shorter (he could, if it exists to a certain level, use life extension tech), barring accidents or illness, etc
