They will play their best team against us then in their games against Arsenal the following week, they will rest players as it is only 3 days after they play Frankfurt. Arsenal, I still don't think will catch us but cannot rule it out. I expect them to beat United and they play West Ham at a good time as West Ham will rest some players and generally will not be as fresh. For me Sunday is a must win game just to ensure we don't get in a panicky top 4 race.

I just dreaded this kind of result tbh. Arsenal have this knack for beating us every season now, it is really starting to do my head in.

Yep. It'll be nice to finish the season or least know where we stand before the last game. We should be okay but we shouldve won against Bradford and shouldve got something from yesterday so who knows.

I dont want to finish 4th...if we up 4th that's crap. Know Could be worse but we've been 3rd for so long! Need to go into Sundah with a different performance and get the points..if not eeek! Especially with Man U round the corner. 5 years or whatever since winning against them in the league is dire

Gift that keeps on giving. I can't even be arsed to go on about how abysmal refereeing is in this country.

This is what I don't get either. The FA Cup final is almost a month away, so is he going to keep resting players and making our job harder till then?

It was a 4th round Carabao Cup selection in a crunch Premier League game. 5 point gap with a game in hand still and I don't think there's real danger of Spurs or Arsenal catching up let alone both of them. But still - could have locked up the season much earlier and then rotated.

Could be wrong with the maths but I think the maximum both Arsenal and Spurs can get is 73 points. That is assuming they draw against each other and both win their other remaining games. If one beats the other, the losing team can only get to 72 points, again assuming they win their other 5 games. So with our goal difference we need 11 points from final 7 games and 10 if one was to beat the other.

It really shouldn't come to that point, and realistically I wouldn't trust either team to win their remaining games. Spurs for starters have to go to Anfield.

But playing devil's advocate, I think the best result would be Arsenal to beat Spurs as I'd also be shocked if they went and won at Anfield. It would leave us needing 7 points from 7 games.

Yeah, we are looking at 3 wins out of the 7 remaining games. Top 4 is in our hands but last night was avoidable stuff, especially when we've had 3 good games on the bounce. I'd leave the rotation for the West Ham game given they have a cup semi midweek.

Sarr gotta be the worst defender we’ve had this century .When him and Lukaku start we are essentially starting games with 9 players, one of which was AC.we need to upgrade the squad anyway and if we lose Rudi then it needs to be alot more.brings the whole team down a few levels without him.

I remember Boulahrouz just had shockers for us, even Del Horno was bad.

Were Bernard Lambourde and Jes Hogh this century or am I going back a little too far?

I'm not sure Sarr is necessarily the worst, but he's possibly the illest fit for the manager we've got in place and style we're looking to implement. Technically he's not at the level we need to be playing out from the back and that creates a massive issue and area of weakness for teams to press and exploit.

They will probably play as close to their main team against both us and Arsenal because that's what they seem to do, but the focus will be on the cup games for them.

It'll be completely normal for them to have one eye on that and try to refrain from injuries, etc.

Hopefully Tuchel gets them in over the next couple of days and really ruffles some feathers because I think a professional, focussed performance will be enough to beat them.

i had a bad feeling going in to this game after Arsenal were on a losing streak, i just knew these cunts would play out of their skins against us, so fucking typical. They have won their cup final 🤣

They didn't even have to play out of their skins though.

The starting line up was a complete shambles, all on Tuchel this one.

TT wants that FA Cup trophy and he is definitely trying to make sure we have a healthy team going into it. If we get the FA Cup and finish top 3....I will be able to stomach this soul crushing loss. One of my best friends and I are planning on going to the Chelsea vs Arsenal friendly game in Orlando.....I have not heard from him much in the last month....until last night. sigh

totally totally unacceptable.

the whole scenario.

players and management.

it seems to me that Tuchel has lost his mojo and can't find it.

and for the squad totally inept, as i've said many times most of them need to be kicked out.

this whole season can turn out to be a disaster, lose to liverpool which is likely, then we have nothing other than 3rd or 4th in the league, this is just not good enough for Chelsea Football Club.

and as for challenging City and the Scousers we are light years away from them, and i'm not talking about just this season.

and for the last 3 home defeats 1-4 Brentford 1-3 RM 2-4 the Arse we are a mess, fucking eleven goals concede in them 3 games🥵

It's not losing the final itself that just be bad it's that alongside it would be the 3rd Fa cup final loss and another loss in a Cup in the same season and to the same lot!

4th domestic cup final loss in a row (5 if you count CS). Damn I hate 2nd places. Back in the Old Guard days we won 4 FA Cups in 6 years and only lost one out of 7 domestic finals between 2005 and 2012 IIRC

The circumstances have been extremely unlucky tho.

We have not scored in a Wembley final since Pulisic's goal vs Arsenal... In the roughly 5 hours of domestic final football since that goal, we scored 6(!) ruled out by VAR. 2 of which I think were perfectly legit and would have changed everything.

That makes it even worse. Least for Liverpool we'll be the surprise team if do win! Think against Araenal and Leicester we were more favourites soooo..maybe..just maybe...
