Jorginho

I think it will take for him to play for a Juventus or a City with great players in those attacking areas to actually appreciate him. And before people are gonna tell me Rodri at City does anything better or different then I implore them to actually watch the games because 9 times out of 10 he passes the ball 5-10 yards to either a CB, FB, De Bruyne or David Silva.

He had a tough spell last season and a wee bit of a difficult time in games this season but all in all hes hardly been as bad as the usuals make out. The constant chopping and changing in MF hasnt helped either and when it was Jorgi-Kovacic and Mount we were playing some great stuff but suppose nobody cares to mention that? The fact we have managed to get our wingbacks so far up and involved in the last 2 games as well is partly done to Jorginho playing it to them at almost every possible opportunity he could.

Rudi and someone who is apparently not a good passer of the ball, zouma, played some great cross field balls to Alonso and Reece.

Both of those players have a better passing range than jorginho.

The standards have fallen so low that making those obvious and easy passes are now being cited as a sign of greatness 😂😂

People still do not understand Jorginho role...

See? Most passes into the final 3rd even this season. This is his job. This is why Pep wanted him. He has his flaws of course but there are systems that can hide them.

Henry on Pep philosophy: "For him, winning is a consequence of playing well with the ball on the ground, respecting his plan, staying in position and always keeping possession.

"He puts everything in place to get the ball up to the final third of the pitch and then trusts his team to finish the job in the only area of the field that can’t be planned for."

Jorginho job is to move the ball into the final 3rd and than it is none of his business.

This could not work well with our attackers this season but next when we have Pulisic, Werner, Havertz and Ziyech it can be amazing.

But than again, we have no idea what Frank wants and I am not sure even he knows...

If that is everything he does then I prefer Kovacic who is 3rd in final third passed and at least can defend and dribble a bit. Much more complete player

I have always said Jorgi is a final piece of the jigsaw type player rather than one to build your team around. You're right, if he had been playing for City (las season in particular) people would've been having fantasy wa*ks over him as he would've been so integral for them.

However, a further problem is that he is an idiosyncratic player, in that he needs to play in a team that is obsessed with ball retention. That means we has to play under a Wenger/Pep/Sarri type manager and/or a club like Barca where possession is their No.1 concern.

My feeling on Jorgi is that; 1) He is a very good player, but 2) He isn't a SFL/Chelsea type player. For this reason, I can see him going if a decent offer comes in but that is due to a stylistic clash and not due to his quality.

If we had creative fullbacks and proper DM combined with our offensive players, Kante would thrive in such system and so would the team because it would have balance.

4 4 2 double 6 with Rice and Kante (and eventually Camavinga when Kante ages out or is too injured) on the pivot

a decent keeper (just find one who actually stops shots, doesn't have to be £200m plus Oblak)

Milenkovic and Klostermann at CB

Theo or Telles at LB, Reece or Azpi at RB (eventually Nordi Mukiele if Reece bombs out)

Pulisic and Ziyech on the wings

2 strikers Werner and Havertz

I can but dream

People seem disappointed that he will most likely stay. I an not.

He has character so he can easily do Fabregas when Conte was here?

Another example is Dejan Stankovic for Mourinho in Inter. When Jose came he did not want him in the squad and the rest in history.

Also we know that when team performs well Jorginho do the same. With much better attack next season with 3 major signings he can be very important player again.

I would not write him off yet...

Are you comparing cesc to jorgi?

There is a reason why cesc Fabregas who is very2 unathletic can play in double pivot for two of the most defensive manager in the world.

Also jorginho has like 1/100th the creativity, vision and passing that cesc did.

Man, I just hope there is a miracle and this guy leaves. Don't want to see him in Chelsea blue again.

Anybody who watched the 8-2 game last night and still believes a player like Jorginho should have a future here is nothing more than a trolll. He has zero athleticism, snail pace and can't play through a press. He is a complete charlatan who belongs in the backwards Serie A.

Because playing a "proper DM" Vs Bayern really made us solid at the back.

That said, if Lampard prefers a sitting DM instead of a Jorgi/Gilmour type player there then I get behind it if he signs an appropriate player, sticking a past his prime box to box player there isn't going to cut it.

Brilliant. Well done on arguing against a point I didn't make in that post.

I get that Kante is the whipping boy now that his body is starting to break down (in large part due to awful management) but at least wait for a post praising his performance against Bayern before making this post.

Well it's a default argument when you're involved because you passionately defended that selection before the City game then walsed round the forum with your dick out after we won the match.

Ahh right, the City game which we won and Kante played well in. He didn't play well against Bayern when really he shouldn't have been playing at all. He wasn't fit enough for the final the week before and only played because of a lack of options due to injury and suspensions.

Saying Roma is interested in Jorginho. Dont see it, would probably have to be a club record signing for them.
Nobody will pay 60 million for Jorgi. Only Sarri was willing to. I think 30 to 40 million for Jorgi is a fair price

Sure, i agree. But we are not talking about what's fair, the question is what Marina wants for him.
