Gossip is a nice escape when there are no transfers happening. Sadly, the story was actually busted. the other woman on the pic is just a friend apparently. Jorginho does however have two kids with his ex-wife. To make the patch-work perfect, his new girlfriend British singer Catherine Harding who also gave Jorginho his third kid also has a child with Jude Law and another one with an unknown man.

Messi is still objectively the best player in the world. he carried Barca last season, and he carried Argentina during the Copa.

He did nothing the likes of Kante and Jorgy didnt do for theirs....the era of CR and Messi is close to spent

But Messi had terrible season with Barca. Plus made unpopular move to PSG. 

After today's nominations Jorginho should be favourite. KDB and Kante did nothing with national teams. Plus KDB lost CL final. Messi nothing with Barca and won 2nd tier competition Copa America. 

These 4 players are only candidates after today's nominations. 

If it's only UEFA Jorginho is easy winner but Ballon d'Or is FIFA? I am afraid worldwide Messi has to much support and will get it in the end which means Jorginho will be robbed. 

Also Kante and Jorginho being nominated means we have best possible pivot in the world. We cannot upgrade this position even if we want.

He was the highest scorer in La liga. Another season where is brilliant performances were let down by his teammates woeful performances. I guess if is Messi's fault if he creates a boatload of chances for his teammates and they fail to convert them, or it do you blame a creative player like Messi when the rest of the team can't defend.

Are people forgetting Ballon d’Or is an individual award?

Messi, the best players in the world, still, single handedly carried one of the worst Barcelona teams in recent seasons under an average manager. As well as carrying Argentina basically. It is his to lose.

Whilst both impressed and played huge roles under Tuchel to think they will win Ballon d’Or is incredibly optimistic. It would be like saying Mikel or Drogba should of won Ballon d’Or in 2012.

The obsession with stats -  particularly goals and assists - in world football at present and considering the fact nobody has even mentioned Lewandowski who again, had another outstanding year or Cristiano Ronaldo, who also got 30+ goals again for Juventus, make it very improbable that either will win it.

Speaking of putting words in someone mouth. You quoted that part but left 'with Barca'. We all know I meant about Barca results. We also know that team/NT success play major part for these awards. 

Messi just played last 16 of CL and finished 3rd in LaLiga. And this is why he finished 4th after Jorginho, Kante and KDB for UEFA voting.

UEFA voting is based on the CL performances though no? So why would he best 3 players who made the final and 2 who won it for UEFA awards? 

Where as Ballon d’Or is based off the whole year for individual players. So there is Only one clear winner. Messi.

If it is any of Kante or Jorginho fair play but I still imagine the usuals will be in the running and will make up the top 3.
