This one is definitely over. But does not matter. We have enough cover on the LWB. Just like Moses, Kenedy and Baba are average as wingers or fullbacks but perfect for the LWB position.

You are only saying they are "perfect" for WB because they are good attackers, but bad defenders. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest they'd be perfect as wing-backs.

They are not bad defenders. They are okish defenders and at least average attackers just as Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso. But just as these two they are good athletes, tireless runners with enough of a physical presence to outmuscle most wingers in a sprint duel. However whilst a classical FB must win a 1 vs 1 or the winger can race through on goal or to the byline for great crossing position, the wing back still has the cover of the extra CB who will step out. So the Fullback only has to track the winger's run, foul him early or force him out to the sideline, no need for extraordinary tackling or marking skills. That is the beauty of the system. It is all about the movement, the awareness, the workrate in these positions. With a bit of tactical coaching both Kenedy and Baba who do not seem to be attitude issues IMO but surely will be avid learners, they can master that role.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Real’s right-back Danilo is likely to be thwarted by Manchester City and talks continue with Juve over the Brazil wing-back Alex Sandro regarding a potential £60m transfer. Juve are resistant to the move and are willing to offer the player a new contract, though their interest in Nemanja Matic, who will be permitted to leave Chelsea and has not been included in Conte’s touring party, could yet see agreement reached.

Would take our summer business thus far from solid to fantastic. Just can't see them selling their two best defenders and 3 of their back 5 in the same window.

This where all the money we've staked from player sales and bargain purchases should come in. Swap deals aren't common but paying 60m for Sandro and selling them Matic for 25m would be acceptable to me

Guys, this forum is crazy. Alex Sandro is not even close of being worth 60m or 70m. He is no Cafu, Roberto Carlos or Marcelo.

Thats crazy and madness. Its so crazy, that I can't stand the fact some people really believe we offered 70m for him and Juve really refused to sell. Really? I mean, they just sold Bonucci to rivals Milan for 35...and won't let Alex Sandro for 70???

Guys, you just lost your minds if you believe in those reports.  Of course Telegraph, Guardian, Mail and all those papers around they must keep the rumors alive, since in the "transfer market", creating transfers rumors is the only way to make fans interested in reading football news when there is no football left to play.

This post is full of lazy arguments and comparisons.

First of all, how did you determine that Alex Sandro is not worth 60m or 70m? Benjamin Mendy of Monaco who has only had one top season is going for +45m. Alex Sandro has shined at  a world class level Juve for two seasons and was already known as a good player at Porto. This is the current state of the market nowdays. Full-backs are very important in today's Football, I would have no problem if the club spent this much money for this caliber of player.

Secondly, Bonucci's sale simply cannot be compared to this one. Despite the fact that Bonucci is a top 3 player in his position just like Sandro, Bonucci wanted to leave Juve which put Juve in a bad negotiating position. Not only that, his wife wanted to stay in Italy which would mean only a select few clubs were available, which means very small competition for those clubs (and the only two were probably Milan and Inter). It's only common sense for Milan to use all of these conditions as leverage and Bonucci's will to leave meant Juve can do nothing about it.

Lastly, Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano have reported that we've made a 60m euro bid for him. Two of the most reliable journalists for the transfer market.

Think Juventus agree with Matic plus money swap is the only way for this deal to happen. For now, it seems they only want to buy Matic and not interested to do the swap deal (not yet perhaps). Sooner the better, we might have to start thinking over any other alternative out there.

Sadly, these kind of swap deals seldom happen. Juventus are so stubborn. Matic +20m for Sandro is fair for both sides, allw ould win.
