dimmas 131
So so happy with the win. What a determination by our player and conte. What a match ! But beside the scoreline, for me before willian goal we fortunate to not conceded more than 2 goals. At another day we probably could be hammered. City have good weapon to cause us problems On individual aspect Technical & Pacey striker : aguero 1st class ball delivery : silva & kdb Pacey fullback : navas & sane As a team their good at interchanging play, able to play high pressure football Our build up play is not able to get out from city pressure and we look vulnurable when have to handle city counter. What concern me is not just only city able to dominate but if we against oponent which have good defensive organisation (barely have any space at wide area to exploit by our wingback because opponent defensive line is very dicipline) and how to cope with high pressure, what we can see conte plan still isnt working. This is not only happen against city but also again spurs. Even boro (though it is probably because international break) but still what oppenent need to make us struggling is really simple just press us high. City absolutely capable to break our defensive organisation, create so many great scoring opportunities , succesfully presssure our player ( there is a moment azpilicueta and kante make silly pass ). Alonso is good wing back but his lack of mobilty and dinamism become liability in this match

My point was to highlight the lack of pace between both Cahill and Alonso will be an issue once more teams begin to figure out that we are more exposed than anywhere else. It's nothing to do with City's quality because even Tottenham did well to exploit that but they couldn't exploit it effectively. It has everything to do with him. Matic's influence in midfield means Cahill and Alonso are a lot more protected. Today they had Cesc in front of them. Of course, City had to exploit the Alonso - Cesc - Cahill trinity, it'd be daft not to. Tottenham didn't exploit that as much as City did because Matic was there. Popular Post! El P. 1,354 Posted December 4, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 4, 2016 To anyone saying that Conte was 'outcoached'... Guardiola used 3-4-3, with no true wingbacks (Sane and Navas). It's something like we employ 3-4-3 with Hazard - Costa - Oscar upfront, and Pedro and Willian as wingbacks. It gives you a lot in terms of attacking, and sure, it will leave your opposition without of ball for big part of the game, and you will create a lot of chances. But your defense is left stranded then, and there's no balance in the team. It's THEIR luck Hazard didn't score that chance at the beginning. It's THEIR luck we didn't exposed that shambles defense earlier with top scorer of the league and best player of the league in our team - because ONE good attack/counter-attack is enough to score against them. Let that sink in for a moment. Conte, bravo maestro! Hybrid Angel, jernej93, The Skipper and 5 others

Dear gosh clearly most important of all, huh Barbara? -- Watching this weekend's last PL game, it's clear why Chelsea are so efficient this season. Everton & City played us, changing their formation to match ours, and thus payed us a huge compliment in the sense we dictated how they play. I thought prior to this season it would Guardiola who would change English football but it seems to be Conte who's really influencing the approach of other teams in the league. Klopp has introduced high pressing and energy while Conte's got the formation and fitness levels up. Those double training over the summer really have put Hazard and Costa back into shape! Roquila 1,335
Liverpool: Away at Bournemouth, 0-2 up at halftime, bottles it. Ends 4-3. Chelsea: Away at City, 1-0 down at halftime, shows eagerness to win. Ends 1-3. We are not that good i guess, our real test will come soon. jernej93, iceboy and Cosmin
Popular Post! manpe 10,861 Posted December 5, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 5, 2016 So before the Tottenham game we were always taking the lead and finishing teams off early, we didn't know how the team would cope going behind first. Now we know, two major tests passed with the boys showing mental toughness we all hoped to see. Next test will be after we inevitably lose, how will the guys pick themselves up... I don't know about you guys, but I'm not even worried about that. I've seen enough of Conte's and the players' resilience to overcome any obstacle. We can afford to lose some, others will lose too as perfectly demonstrated today, but I have faith in the whole team to dust themselves off and carry on with their Hard Work™. At this point I seriously believe only an injury crisis can stop us from winning the league. Tomo, iceboy, Mana and 5 others

You see the names were linked with like Nainggolan again and the CB Süle from Germany and they're basically the most important players at their clubs. Don't think there's a chance they would consider selling them midseason. I just hope we don't go for another Cuadrado type who comes in, sits on the bench, and fails to settle and we regret buying him. BoyBlue96 990
Like my Italian friend said (Juve fan): A born winner. If he wins us the League in his first season, give him a 6 year contract like José got and back him. I'm sick and tired of us swapping managers so goddamn quickly. Not one manager had the chance to build something here because he would end up getting sacked by Roman for ending second (Carlo) or a UCL loss (Roberto) or whatever. Please, give this man all the time he needs.

Conte is the first time since Jose's first time it feels like we have a solid plan going forward. Others might have had their plans (AVB for example), but it all turned sour quickly. Conte is giving us the identity and philosophy we've been waiting for forever. Don't think he will be going anywhere soon. Last Sicarius 610
Im so surprised how our mentality changed through few months... In last seasons where Jose was our menago, we did two situation: 1. Scored first, take 1-0 and play bus to the end. 2. Conceded goal and our mentality broke down. In 90% situations like this we couldn't score goals and win that match. But now, well we go for as mane goals as we can, dont stop at 1-0. Moreover, we can work out result when we are losing... Conte is pure genius. kellzfresh
Popular Post! Rekin 835 Posted December 5, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 5, 2016 The players have already publicly stated that the recent results gave them more faith in the coach, and adhering to his methods. Beating the messiah of football/the grand philosopher/the soccer think-tank Pep Guardiola will do so much to improve his authority. The board did everything they could to get Guardiola, one can imagine they promised him transfers, authority and so on. Now the coach they got instead have gone to beat him, away from home. Ferguson once said that the manager needs to be the most important person in a club, and the only way for this to happen is through results. I feel more optimistic than for a long time. Even when Jose won the title, I already felt like the football was boring, Mou was bitter and tired etc. Conte has really done a grand job to make the club feel more like a happy family. I really hope we can build from this. Fernando, manpe, Chelsea Legend 11 and 4 others
