Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted November 9, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted November 9, 2014 The tactical arrogance of Pellegrini and Rodgers is starting to catch up with them. They both think there teams should only play one way regardless of the oppo. The City CSKA match for example, CSKA turned up in Manchester with a game plan, executed it to perfection and got the points, Pellegrini just rolled out his default tactics.Purists who have this arrogant way off "we only play this way" are ruining the game. Yeah it looks good when there teams click but when it's not going right they don't know what to do and have the mentality off "we were smashing teams 8 months ago keep doing this were start doing the same again". The Chels 2,502
Somewhat amazed at how quiet this thread is. When we dropped points against City and United, people went on a rampage at how negative/defensive/pragmatic Mourinho was in those matches. Now, we didn't really see any of that from Mourinho against Liverpool and nobody even seem to say anything good about it, especially when people were calling for him to be braver in those two matches. The 'moaning' took place in the post-match thread because once again, going defensive after taking the lead almost cost us. We could barely retain possession and kept gifting the ball back to them but in the end that mattered not, mostly because they're shite. Jose also changed a bit from the full on bus parking strategy because of result against City imo. We are now unlikely to play that extreme defensively anymore unless we meet Bayern/Real or Barca. Against someone like Atletico I think Jose has learned his lesson and won't instruct the team to do the same as last year anymore. When I lose to my best mate on fifa but have more possession I joke about moral victory and playing within the spirit of the game and can't even keep a straight face for a second, it's quite surreal that they are actually being serious when they say it. iseah100 and CHOULO19

Very sad that a lot of the newer football fans actually believe that, though none of them can actually explain "why". ZOS and Tomo
Popular Post! mufilika 101 Posted November 9, 2014 Popular Post! They ended up loosing the game 2-1 to Swansea. It was soo foolish. In-fact Gomis was called offside with 13 mins to go at almost the half way line. Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted November 10, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted November 10, 2014 Rodgers, Mourinho and Wenger all finished within 5 point's off each other last season and all 3 held teams that had glaring weaknesses that probably cost the title in the end.The difference the following summer is one manager went out and fixed the issue's while the other two have made theirs even worse. We still have a few minor issues like proactive centre half and inconsistent right mids but we had two major issues last term and Jose sorted it immediately. bababoom, Blue-in-me-Veins, LDN Blue and 9 others

Popular Post! OneMoSalah 8,886 Posted November 10, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted November 10, 2014 I remember a few months back when the 2013/14 season finished and we had all this talk about how we could have won if we didn't sit back and play so defensive and people were calling for Jose's head saying City played brilliant football or Liverpool played good football or whatever but I think this season you see just how good Jose really is in terms of making a team with variation and different ways of winning games. There is no one way to play football, the difference is Liverpool can only play if teams let them play and the same with City because they chose to play one way. Also look at City's transfer window? Would you say they've improved? 32M for a center half who has looked out of sorts? Fernando right enough was a decent buy but Toure is continuing to do what he does best: leave spaces in central areas. Liverpool's transfer window was embarrassing too really, who out of their new signings are worth the money? None of them really. Rodgers' transfer record since going there has been pretty bad to be honest, over 200M since getting there and he has bough one player that has been good: Sturridge. The point I'm trying to make as well, when we won the title under Jose in his first year, we strengthened signing players, again we finished 3rd last season and we strengthened in where we needed. We win the title this season and I bet he will still strengthen the team. Best manager in the world. Its a fact. bababoom, Amblève., kellzfresh and 9 others
