CHOULO19 24,332
Be honest, who had a moan when Ba started?Sinking in yet?I actually wanted Ba to start because Norwich are a bit too physical for Eto'o.I had a moan when the goal went in and I, along with everyone on my TL, had been begging for changes for more than ten minutes because the change in momentum was so obvious. But credit to Jose, he took a chance by bringing on Hazard and playing Schurrle as a LB and it paid off (even though we got incredibly lucky with the second goal). DDA 9,949
I was raging my tits off at Jose for most of yesterdays game but then he goes and makes the game winning substitutions. Can't stay mad at him even if I wanted to try which I wouldn't want to :-) Stingray

Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted October 7, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted October 7, 2013 Jose got lucky yesterday, but that's what happens when you take risks. When we made the changes we gave Norwich a sniff and actually lost a fair amount of control that we had in the game but in that chaos we also created chances for ourself. That's why the supporters love this guy, because he has balls.Rafa would've maintained the same system but made personnel changes whereas Jose is wiling to completely change the shape of the team and give the opposition something new to think about. It's risky but it's compelling and I'd take that over a 1-1 draw any day of the week. Yes, Jose made great changes. When it works, the manager looks like a genius.Chelsea were comfortably the better side. However Canaries managed to assert themselves on the game, but Jose showed them who is the better side.A great win, much needed 3 points, especially when the other pretenders sputtered. Well, it worked. As you might have seen, I do not feel Jose is infallible, but one thing I admire about him is his boldness to try to win games at any repercussion. Against manures, he should have tried the same, I feel. Manures are ready for picking, these days. As for the poster, I refuse to get involved into his dribbles. didierforever

Puting 3 strikers on the pitch and turning 1 point into 3 points. There is a huge risk on the counter, but drawing two matches is 2 points, and going for the win and winning one and losing the other is 3 points. So that's how fegurson acted and mourinho is the same in mentality to win. Popular Post! Miguelito 459 Posted October 7, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted October 7, 2013 I stumbled across this article on fourfourtwo and thought it was a brilliant and interesting article. It gives a lot of insight on mou's career before he became a manager. I just decided to pick out my favorite parts. From The Translator to The Special OneRead the full article at http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/you-know-pep-im-kind-big-deal-round-here“He was the translator when he arrived,” says a senior member of staff at Barcelona who worked with the pair. “But he was also assistant coach. The two roles were incompatible and that became apparent after just two or three press conferences. Rather than translate Mr Robson’s words, Mourinho would add his own opinions. He’d protect his boss as well – he’d have arguments with journalists. We had to pull him back from translating.”"Jose was to prove a marvellous asset, covering my back and looking after me while building up a good rapport with the players of the three clubs we have been at together. Whenever I needed his support he was there, even though it often meant putting himself in the firing line.” ---- I love this about him. The way he sticks up for his boss here reminds me of how much he sticks up for his players now.At Sporting, the Englishman had started sending Mourinho to scout forthcoming opponents. What he got back stunned him. “He’d come back and hand me a dossier that was absolutely first class,” said Robson in 2005. “As good as anything I’d received. Here he was, in his early thirties, never been a player or a coach to speak of, giving me reports that were as good as anything I ever got.”Future scouts working under Mourinho would be admonished or not used at all if their reports weren’t up to scratch, as one of Benfica’s technical staff discovered when he reported back to the Portuguese in 2000 – a report which contained only nine outfield players. ----This shows how particular he is about everything. And also just how important this aspect is to him as a manager. Shows that AVB really did do an incredible job at it.He stayed at Barcelona for one unhappy – “professionally and personally” – final year, in which he admitted he’d become “a frustrated coach, somewhat harsh, even overly critical”---- Reminds me a bit of the Madrid situation last year“One of the most important things I learned from Bobby Robson is that when you win, you shouldn’t assume you are the best, and when you lose, you shouldn’t think you are rubbish. Bobby Robson is not so interested in study and systems or planning of training sessions. He’s a field man, who thrives on direct contact with the players. He is also a coach dedicated to attack. If we divide the game into three areas of build-up, you would say Bobby Robson’s work is to focus on the final third. It meant that a lot of the emphasis of my work was towards the defence.”---- This to me just makes me think that this might be a bit of the reason one why he knows just how important defense is. If he worked basically non-stop with that for multiple years, it's obvious that it influenced him and gets engraved in the way he thinks. The last thing I noticed was how much it talked about how he had this special type of relationship with the players. He always won the respect of the players and has a knack for knowing how to hit the right buttons for them. For me, more than anything, he is the master of the psychology of the players. 11Drogba, zyzz, Barbara and 2 others
