didierforever 7,349
Maybe last season, but finishing 6th in 2012 went much deeper than just not having a forward and a DM.6th was an exagerration. we could have come 4th or atleast 5th easily if we put in a fight. but by the end of it we had given up. i mean the kind of team that started arsenal away (after barca first leg) and liverpool away (after winning FA cup) should be a clear indication. we were relying more on our CL performance to get us a CL spot than the league itself. so i really feel that 2011-12 does not give a fair estimation. Leif 6,006
I'd be lying if i said we look better under Mourinho than we did under Benitez. It's horrible to be saying that but it's true.Hazard looked better, Mata actually played and was probably amongst the top 5, definitely top 10, players in Europe last season, Mou is playing Lampard far too much as almost everyone on here agrees, he's completely limited Ramires and what annoys me perhaps most is that he hasn't given a fair fucking chance to Azpilicueta or Bertrand and continues to persist with Ivanovic at right back! Something's clearly not right in his head so far. He must be trying something new behind the scenes and clearly failing. We actually have less cohesiveness, consistency & goal threat compared to last season.Rushed and probably still fueled by the emotions of the Basel loss, I just had to get that out before the Fulham game to (hopefully) avoid the onslaught of "KNEE JERK REACTION!!!!" posts. I'm not calling for his head already, but I'm buying none of that 'we're in a transition' bullshit as an excuse for Mourinho being a very poor manager since his arrival. You don't stay in transition for 4 or 5 years. We have an average age of 28 or some shit at the moment, that needs to fucking mature? He doesn't get special treatment for past success here. He even said himself to judge him off what he does this time. 5 games in a row without a win at this club just cannot be accepted. Edit: One more thing - What the fuck is with his awful substitutes? Benitez made subs at the oddest times based on conclusions before the match had even started, but at least for the most part he brought the right players on, something Mourinho has done perhaps once since he got here. Can't believe this mess we're in so far. Wish Lucien Favre would get a look-in one day.
didierforever 7,349
We had Didier at 2012avb did not start him in the start of the season. and when he did, DD got KO by the norwich keeper, then got a red against qpr, then a month for afcon and during the end, he was basically for CL, FA cup matches rather than the league. also even DD was pretty poor for a league match in2011-12. he showed no fire, no enthusiasm, and simply was not the DD of old or the DD that we saw in CL and FA cup games. Blue Armour 4,448
the main reason for that happening is that we dint have a good striker who could take the load off our attacking mids and we dint have a world class DM. and we still dont have any of those 2. The lack of a world class DM is something that still perturbs me, yes. But I doubt getting a new one is entirely down to Mourinho. As far as a striker goes, look...Neither Ba, Torres and now Eto'o have been getting the best of service. Face it, its not because all 3 strikers degraded in quality after coming here...Our system just does NOT provide good service for strikers...and I think that's something Mourinho should change if he can. Fernando 6,585
Those Mata comment really disappoint me. I thought Mourinho had learned to be a more attacking minded coach after his spell at Madrid. But it seems we are going back to the counter attacking system. It's okay if we start winning things, but the real question is if this is what Roman wanted?Cause if Roman knew we would not be an attacking team why he got him?Sometimes Roman decision puzzle me. He can't have stability and expect his coach to play the style he want. Can't have his cake and eat it.

Fernando 6,585
I remember the last time RDM gamble on the starting 11 against juventus and that cost him. Here Mourinho has made a big statement of intent. We have to win otherwise things will not look good. The good thing is that he does it against a weaker rival then a stronger rival. As the chance of success are much more higher.

Fernando 6,585
Mourinho the magician made Mikel score. Anyone doubt him?Me I doubted him. But he has done good. I'm really impress! Not much in the scoring goal but in the second half where we play a high line. That is very offensive and that is what I wanted to see. Before that everything was so dull and boring, but when he put out the team like this everything changed. Do it again!

Tomo 21,751
The first half was like what we witnessed the last few season's, but Jose done something at half time to change that and the second half we were superb. That's the difference between Jose and other manager's, under any one else the 2nd half would have been just as bad and the game would have ended 0-0.After WHL next week we would have played 3 of last season's top 6 away already, if we can escape from next weekend 3-4 points off the top, then we are in an great position. Fernando 6,585
Lol I was kidding. I was just joking about how he's gr8 cos Mikel scored under him.I don't care about him scoring. Well I take that back, yes happy just like Roman was but I was more happy to see the high lineup that Mourinho put in the second half. This is what I want to see, as the high line when perfected will help us keep better possession of the ball and be a more attacking team. This is what I was doubting about Mourinho, and I think Roman too at a certain point. But Mourinho made the tactical changes and showed us that it now looks promising from looking bleak a couple of minutes ago.
