Actually I will also add their is one other major problem that does not help Luiz and that is our sitter tends to get in his way and complicates thing for him by sitting in his space and your are right he is a wonderful ball playing centre half not defender at the moment.

I really can't see how people want Chelsea to compete against the other top clubs with players like Cahill. That's something I will never understand.

BTW, to be be clear here: we've been conceding A LOT of goals without Luiz btw.

A shame Liam Ridgewell and Mo Salah never got the memo.

I am sure Jose is picking the team on merit and with all play scrutinised fully before a decision is made on who plays.

Really no argument concerning John Terry, just don't think Cahill is nearly at the same level.

A player is good enough or he isn't in my mind. Other traits may be nice to have, but if talent isn't there, he doesn't belong in the starting XI up of a top club.

I wonder how effective this style is these days, since the other top sides play very differently - including the ones sitting above us on the standings.

By the way Mo Salah was all down to Ivan sleeping I am sure Jose mentioned that .so one slip against West Brom against David at the moment is why he is being picked ON MERIT. Please do not try to second guess Jose on how to organise a defence. When Luiz learns and hits form with the right DM in front of him he will be at Chelsea for a long time ,I have faith in him that he will be a great player for us one day with Cahill ,it could be a great future pairing for us ,Cahill gets far too much abuse on here.

They will never be a great partnership, something that Mourinho has seemed to work out pretty early, as it hasn't been used since Basle (outside the COC).

I think it is more that he has worked out that JT is still our best defender to be honest with Cahill at the moment .

JT with Luiz is gonna be back when he recovers from our injury. Cahill had his share of mistakes this season.

Thank God most people here are arm chair analyst, TG for Abramovich, TG we have Iva (will be in 90% of EPL clubs), TG AVB didnt get rid of JT and FL, TG Demba didnt get a loan move (imagine him in AFC this season), TG Mata didnt go to MUtd (imagine them without Rooney) TG Eissien is not our sole DM, finally TG we have JM he is a winner and he is managing a team he loves.
