Mourinho made a really bold statement saying he prefers oscar over mata. I know he admires the way brazil play, compact in the middle and deadly on the flanks with counter attacking style. But to do that he has to tell cole and ivanovic to step up their attacking game and lampard cannot provide the energy that brazil pivot (gustavo and paulinho) provide.

For his sake and oscars sake, we have to win fulham or it wont end well

There are some things I'd like to say that will be obviously drowned by the continual bleating of the sheep on this site. Why I bother I don't know.

1. Our team had a beautiful thing going on with the Mazacar trio. Mourinho came and instantly fucked up the only part of the team that should have been left untouched. The concerns going into the season were to get a striker, a central midfielder, and a center back. Strangely, we added another creative midfielder and loaned maybe our best striker out. Willian is stupidity personified. The stupidity of our board that is.

People here keep on blaming Mata but look at things from his view point. Goes from winning the club's player of the year to becoming a bench player. What a fucking farce. I can imagine he is furious. Maybe Mourinho wanted to project an image of being in control and hence went on and engineered this fiasco.

2. Despite what is repeated almost 10 times in every page of this thread by the sheep, the current problems we are facing are not of one game, or two games, or three games etc. This is a team that has not competed in the league for 3 years now, despite having spent significant money and despite our rivals being so poor ! It is ridiculous when you think of it.

3. There is a disgusting trend at this club of paying lip service to all the real needs. In pre season we were told by our manager of his youth project bullshit. This is the standard perennial bullshit that the club feeds and it is gulped down every time. The season starts and Lampard is a mainstay despite being so poor. Our youth has it's regular spot on the bench.

4. I am tired of shit on a stick. We get dominated by teams with good midfields, as shown in the Bayern game. How can we hope to compete against Bayern and Barcelona etc if we keep on stacking the midfield with technically deficient players ? Furthermore, our manager keeps on saying that he wants a revolution of football style. However, actions mean more then empty words. Look at Mourinho's actions, where he is trying to put the shackles on our most creative footballer, and then try to rationalize this as you will with his rhetoric of improving style. Absurd is all I can say.

1. with mazacar we came third on the last day in the league 1 point ahead of arsenal, got knocked out of the group stages of champs league but won the europa league. It wasnt as perfect as you are making it out to be

2. Mourinho now wants us to compete for the league. As he is a veteran that has competed for every league he has played in, coming first or second, he sees his system as the better way than our past 2 years(6th place and 3rd place, 20 points behind the title)

3. Thats not fair on lampard's part, he did get an assist and has scored already this season. But over playing lampard will be a flaw from mourinho though

4. Yes we get dominated by good midfields for 3 years now. So mourinho's plan to fix it is to get more compact in the middle so that those midfielders wont have space. He's not shackling anybody lol, he wants more team effort than individual play. How is that bad??

I know you like benitez, but benitez played 4-4-1-1 with mata behind the striker and since they are 4 behind him, he doesnt need to defend and it suited mata perfectly.

But now mourinho plays 4-2-1-3, which means the AM will be closer to the pivot than the wingers. Mata must play to the coaches system, what do you want mourinho to do? play with benitez style because it suits mata more??

When mourinho was here, we were feared in europe. Nobody wanted to face us. But in the past 3 years we were never considered contenders for any big trophy, now mourinho wants us to be as dominant as we were before. Allow him time to do this before you kill him

Jose is seriously getting on my nerves right now. he always has these stupid dumb moments where he puts his arrogance ahead of the club.

Many people hated him in Madrid for benching Casillas, but he was right. Deigo Lopez is better than Casillas.

Now he's trying to do the same thing benching Mata for Oscar. the problem here is we had Hazard/Oscar/Mata working wonderfully for us. it was the only good thing about this team. we only needed a world class striker and a center midfielder to complete us. Jose basically destroyed the trio. spending 30m on an average player like Willian and an amateur like Schurrle for 17m.

We had KDB and Moses which were going to be our back up for the trio. now we're left with 6 players fighting for the same position, people may think this is a good thing, but this rotation crap is BS. we don't even have chemistry in this team anymore, there is no solid starting 11. players are only focusing on themselves now, there is no team anymore.

If it looks too good......... it's bad mate. We could have just splashed the cash for Falcao or Cavani and sold Torres while keeping Lukaku as no2. we could have gone for De Rossi or someone like Moutinho/fellaini in midfield.

Now we're left with our best player unhappy, a joke of striker in Torres and a 32 year old crooked Etoo who doesn't give a shit about this club. as for now, we cant attack and we cant defend. Aston Villa outplayed us, Bayern out played us, Hull outplayed us, United outplayed us.

The moment Jose dropped Mata was the moment where we started from zero again. can't believe a player who was going to be a legend in here is going to leave us while players like Schurrle and Willian are going to be playing instead of him because they can "track back" "defend" why the fuck should your most creative player track back? you stick your no10 and striker upfront while the wingers and center midfielders do that. Mata proved last year he was the best no10 in the game with his stats, and if the problem here is he thinks Oscar is a better no10, then hes fucking deluded.

Funny how all of these people (the media, other teams' fans) suddenly decided to start worrying about Chelsea, about Mata, about us, the fans. And by suddenly I mean when Mourinho got appointed. From the very first day they said that Mata and Luiz aren't liked by Jose because they aren't good defensively. From the very first day! And the most frustrating thing is that now they even say that we were playing much better and offensive football in the last years, when we won the UCL and Europa League. Maybe last season, but finishing 6th in 2012 went much deeper than just not having a forward and a DM.

Not sure what Mourinho is heading for. Why not keep what was good last seasons and build on making use of the depth the squad now has? Maybe he'll need to look for DM, central forward but for the time being there is enough quality to play in different shapes. Imo it is ridiculous to claim Chelsea lost the last two games because he is thinking of the next four years.

I must confess I'm rather confused.

I fail to understand what people mean by Mata doesn't perform in the big games. Last season, he destroyed Manchester United (the 'Champions') in every game he played, I'm sorry but doesn't Chelsea-United count as a big game for you. He performed superbly against Arsenal in both fixtures and had a brilliant game vs Spurs. He scored a brilliant goal to get us 3 points at Carrow Road. Scored against Everton last season and was good in the home fixture vs Shaktar. He consistently performed incredibly. If Mata is that bad people, then why are other teams dying to get their hands on him?

This work rate thing is being taken against Mata a lot, it's as though it's the only important thing. Moreover, I'm also wondering why we spent 30 mil on a #10 when we already have one like Mata. Willian doesn't possess the greatest work rate from what I know (I might be wrong so please correct me). So when this playmaker you people regard as unworthy of starting for Chelsea purely cos of work rate (i.e Mata) is bad, then why Willian? Have you not seen that Mata is the most intelligent player in the league (ofc it's Ozil now) and has brilliant passing vision. He can drift in beautiful long balls which I must say nobody in our team is currently capable of doing.

So then the question is why did we waste these 30 mil on Willian when we have Mata? Should we not have brought in a winger (as Ballack pointed on Sky that we have too many of the same players). True, you could argue that these days there aren't too many genuine wingers these days, but for 30 mil I guess we could find someone who provides width.If Arsenal managed to get Ozil of RM, would it have been possible for us to get Di Maria, which would possibly have resulted in RM not selling Ozil to Arsenal?

Then I hear the other thing, that these days it is the job of the full backs to provide the width for a team and not the wingers. Then the questions is why do we have Ivanovic and Cole playing at full back if it is their job to provide width? Surely we should have bought an attacking-minded full back (or maybe even let Wallace stay?). So if the full backs are supposed to provide the width then why aren't we using Azpilicueta and Bertrand since they are technically superior and have more pace. IMO Mata is still useful for us and now this Willian signing is starting to feel rather confusing to me.

Very tricky. This really is a weird dilemma.
