Chelsea is lucky to have a good board....

Look at the midtable team...

Llalana =31m

Lovren= 25m

Markovic=25m

Moreno=18m

Mario=20m

Can=12m

Origi= 12.6m

Lambert 5.5m

Midtable team with their midtable board....

let's not forget Sakho, Tiago, Aspas, luis alberto, mignolet

actually Can, Moreno and Lallana could turn out to be very good transfers

Chelsea become first Premier League club to adopt living wage

Chelsea have become the first Premier League club to adopt the living wage.

The Premier League leaders on Thursday announced they had been accredited by the Living Wage Foundation and, from January, will pay all directly employed members of staff the living wage as a minimum - currently £9.15 an hour in London or £7.85 an hour outside of the capital.

The national minimum wage is £6.50 an hour, but the living wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually, calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK.

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said on chelseafc.com: "As a responsible employer we are proud of this significant achievement for the club.

"We believe the move to the living wage underlines our commitment to ensuring that all our employees receive a fair rate of pay for their hard work and dedication. Quite simply it is the right thing to do."

Ron Gourlay and now Bruce Buck..

Seems there's an aggressive revamp of the board going on and it does seem like the time to do it. Matters on the pitch have gone a drastic change of late, as have the balancing of the books. Just leaves the board now.

Perhaps something to do with the countless attempts for expanding SB - Finding an alternative to a bigger stadium?

Seems the influence of Marina Granovskaia seems to be increasing swiftly through the board. She was apparently key in bringing José Mourinho & Diego Costa to Stamford Bridge

Her style is perhaps best described as polite but firm, although there are stories that it went a little further than that during John Terry’s contract talks.

Over recent years, any agents turning up to meetings at the Bridge or Chelsea’s training ground in Surrey would find Granovskaia driving the meetings, increasingly active and influential at the heart of the club with a good relationship with technical director Michael Emenalo.

Last year, her rise to power was made official when she was confirmed on the board of both the football club and the PLC. In the short term, Gourlay’s responsibilities will be shared between Granovskaia and chairman Bruce Buck, and in the longer term, the club may consider employing a commercial specialist to replace Gourlay, rather than a traditional CEO.

Perhaps Abramovich may try to incorporate his son into the club's hierarchy now..

I hope not, we need professionals. People that know what they're doing like Christian Purslow, they might not love the club but they'll work hard for it. Not some kid that's still learning, hire someone new and have his son be his assistant for 3-4 years then give him more responsibility.
