MHL 47 378
Loads of variables that could possibly effect the outcome of the game.NegativesThey'll get confidence from last nights result and have very few chances now to get themselves out of the mess they've got themselves intoWe've got a massive game to think 3 and a bit days later and manage the squad forWill they get momentum and belief from the result against Man CityTheir best results tend to be away from home and they perform generally better against the better sidesPositivesThey may be wearyWe've had a decent break following the Swansea matchWe're at homeWe're a better side, with better playersWe've a better managerThey'll have 1500 (tops, if past matches against them at SB are anything to go by) fansWe'll have 40000 fans and need every one of them to all behind the teamWe have an experienced manager in these scenariosHowever what should happen doesn't always and that's what makes football (especially in the PL) such a drug. manpe 10,861
It's funny, I remember that after our few losses and draws people were saying the title race was over. I admit, after the last time we dropped points I was one of them. It's funny to think that despite what's happened, we are realistically contemplating winning the two biggest trophies possible. We've had quite a few seasons like this, they never turned out like we had hoped, let's hope this time it does. It could end up being our most memorable season or one to forget. All we have to do is win all our remaining games, sounds simple enough MetsajCFC
didierforever 7,349
Don't think the "sunderland will be weary" thing works. Still remember that newcastle had played 120 minutes of carling cup football just 2/3 days before playing against us at st. James' park. Sunderland will fight for their life. Literally. Wont be easy. Kieran. 6,317
You have to think IF! we give the beatdown to Sunderland this weekend, surely we can chip away at that +9 GD lead Liverpool has? That's a reach obviously, but more attainable than City's +12 GD lead with a game in hand. The Skipper

Sheva. 5,373
Salah-Oscar-Schurrle; Eto'o.The front 4 i want for this game. Willian got a chance in the middle and did well, now time for Oscar to impress with 2 wingers by his side.Hopefully Hazard is on the bench but not needed. The red flag to me right now is Cardiff away. That is a dangerous team. darrus
BleedsBlue 1,549
This match is very very important. Its imperative that we kill of the game before the hour mark so that we can finish the game on a high and at the same get the opportunity to rest a few players.Matic and Salah are definite starters and will get the chance to play the whole game as they both are cup tied. CHOULO19 24,332
The thing is, Sunderland didn't really park the bus yesterday except maybe in the last 10 or so minutes. They really went and attacked City and had more chances than them in the first half and I thought overall they genuinely deserved the draw if not all three points. Not sure if that should make me more confident because we want them to attack us and leave spaces and because even when they did park the bus their defense was not that good and they gave City a lot of chances or less confident because we're playing a team that have just out-played City (granted City were generally crap throughout the match).
