West Brom v Chelsea

Bottom of the league teams are so desperate not to be relegated, they'll park the bus for the whole 90 minutes just to scrounge 1 point. We need to start early and fast in order to score.

WBA plan is to play with 11 goalkeepers. They care nothing about scoring, and will fight to the death to keep us from scoring.

And please, bring the wrecking ball and go full blast on them.

Mourinho said on "extra time at the bridge" that he rested Rami vs Newcastle so he could have him fresh for west brom so expect him to start.

Yeah, can't see Ramires sitting out for two league matches in a row. If anything it's Matic that'll get a rest. I sure hope not, but it wouldn't shock me.

Matic should start every remaining prem match.

This sort of games are the ones that makes us real title contenders. After Newcastle getting blasted after their offensive play , we could expect West Brom to totally park the bus.

We needs to break their defense down. I reckon Oscar is going to flourish in these sort of games.

..........Ramires.....Lamps..........

Shuttle.........Oscar.......Hazard

.....................Torres....................

Expecting another 1-0 tomorrow.

Absolutely....he is slowly turning or to be our very own Yaya Toure- strong, reliable- a rock in our midfield. Then again I'll test him for City at the weekend.

Not so sure about starting Torres TBH. He has just returned from injury and with the amount of games coming up, the last thing we need is to rush him back early and risk getting injured again resulting in him missing yet more games for an extended period of time.

I'll try and give you all the key points from the press conference as it goes along in this post. :)

  1. John Terry is OUT - JM expects him back next weekend.
  2. Fernando Torres is back.
  3. Expects the team to better, the younger players to improve and the older ones to be stable in their performance.
  4. 'Do we think we can win tomorrow? Of course we do. But to say something about the end of the season is difficult because their are only six points between 1st and 4th and that is close.' Says any of the top 4 can win the title 'more than mathematically' and the other teams are in better conditions than us.
  5. 'Teams in the lower half of the table needs the points to stay in the league so perform very well'. Gives examples of WHU v us, Fulham v United, Norwich v City.
  6. Reiterates that at the moment, the most important thing is to be far away from 5th and secure top 4 and then top 3. And says this league is tougher than last year so its more important than ever to be far away.
  7. Says he doesn't know how winning the league this year would feel in comparison with his previous successes.
  8. Says Madrid v Barcelona and Benfica v Porto decides other titles, but big games in England do not necessarily dictate who wins the title, its more about being consistent.
  9. Re: Hazard; off the pitch he is tremendous. 'Special', 'family boy', 'without the things most of his generation want to do'. Says he sees a difference between now and the start of the season, better physically, mentally and responsibly. Says we shouldn't mix generations when asked about Hazard v Ronaldo/Messi comparisons.
  10. Won't be disappointed if we don't win the league, but will be disappointed in the team if we don't continue their level and evolution.
  11. 'Everyone knows what Man City is', 'Pellegrini is a fantastic coach'. But they don't have a team for the next ten years, they have a team for now and the next 2-3 years. We want to create for ten years.
  12. Man Utd can finish in the top four but its not going to be easy for them to close the gap because us, Arsenal, Liverpool, City are doing 'okay'. Says Moyes is the right man for the job.
  13. Says Liverpool are in the same situation as Chelsea; they didn't start the season as favourites. But have a young team with senior players and their manager is 'very good'. But not having CL is a big advantage for them and makes a big difference come April/May.
  14. Knows Pepe Mel, says he was a 'champion' at Betis for winning the Segunda. Says he lost to Mel and Betis at Real Betis and that he likes his team to play with the ball.
  15. Says if Toure isn't suspended, the message to the players is clear; 'you can do what you want if the referee doesn't see.' Says he 'must' be suspended'.
  16. Says individual awards should go to the members of the Champions when asked if Eden can win young player and players player of year. Says when he votes for awards, he votes for a player of the Champions.

There is a considerable doubt of him hiring form going into the City game after coming from the injury.

His starting will provide Eto'o some breathing space going into the City game. He has been playing quite a lot of football lately.

Ba to start then.

Mourinho said he could have started against Newcastle, but there was no reason to rush him. Very possible he starts this since Eto'o has been playing a lot and Ba is Ba.

Eto'o may have been playing a lot of games lately but one have to remember that we have practically been playing one game per week since the start of January and we just came off a week without playing in midweek and only faced Newcastle on Saturday. So, it's not like Eto'o needs a rest because he's been flogged to death for playing a game every 3-4 days for the last few weeks.
