Absolutely. No need to work Cole to death when we have a more than capable back up in Bertrand. Maybe not against Spurs but certainly against Steaua he should start.

I'd like to see Bertrand get the start against Steaua & Cardiff.

I think Ryan will be starting a few games for us while we rest Ashley for the tougher CL and PL games. Hopefully he's fully fit and firing in all cylinders come next weekend.

Can only hope so. Mourinho's persistence with starting Cole (and some others) for nearly every single game this season when his performances haven't been great at all, goin by usual high standards, is really nonsensical!

Not a bad performance considering how little game tim he has had. I think he is a promising talent for the future. Needs more game time though, but if fit Ashley over him eerytime.

Indeed.

I feel we just need to judge him in a different paradigm to Ashley, as have been spoilt for having a world-class left back we sometimes take it for granted. Ryan is never gonna emulate Cole in his prime, but I feel he's a worthy member of the squad and produces when called upon.

Positive performance from him today. Arguably not the best of attacking displays from a LB you'll see but he certainly is more enterprising and offers better attacking outlet on the left side than Cole.

Needs to play more. Right now he's way more techniquel than Ashley and offers more offensively, and when Ash isnt realy in good form overall, i think Ryan should play more especially in games like today when we're clearly the dominant side.

Had a really solid perfromance today and was a constant threat in the wide area. Such a shame that as soon as Cole is fit Jose will put Bertrand back on the bench.

Agree with that, but today I felt he was a bit indecisive in the attacking third. Maybe some more match practice can get him in the flow of things.
